Riku Shiraishi is one of the members of the world famous rock band, Murder City Ravens.  They hit it big during this world tour, and they just hit the last stop on the tour—his home town of New York.  Riku is ready to begin the next album, along with the other members, but he has something pulling him to a certain shop in Manhattan today…the woman with whom he had a long term affair while they were both in music school and who disappeared without a word.  Riku has located her and now just needs to work up the nerve to walk into through front door.  But fate might have answered his inner questions for him.

Cyn Woodley, okay, it really is Cynthia but don’t call her that if you want to stay on her good side, has become an up and coming jewelry designer after giving up her dreams of becoming an opera singer and exploring her love and possibly having a life with Riku.  Cyn is very surprised one afternoon when she literally bumps into Riku after over eight years passing since they’d last seen each other.  Once they go into her shop, things turn crazy fast as Riku is recognized, and her shop is suddenly filled with fans.  Another thing that surprises Cyn is how fast the feelings and passion between her and Riku come back.

Riku has never known why Cyn left the school they both attended or why she didn’t fulfill her promise to join him in Paris.  Cyn knew that Riku didn’t have the best childhood and part of his current reputation and personality was his way of taking control, but even she had not figured out exactly what drove him.  While their past passion seemed as if it never went away, these years apart have made them different people than they were as teenagers. Riku and Cyn figure out pretty fast that their feelings for each other are hot as ever, yet something seems to be getting in the way of building on that passion and fulfilling the promise of a life long journey together.  It will take emotional circumstances and soul opening discussions before Riku and Cyn can overcome what seems to be the huge hole between them and to be together like it seems they have always reached for.  The questions are, have they waited too long for this discussion and are their lives too different to be combined now?

Two teenagers who once had a passionate life together rediscover each other as adults in Born to be Wild.  Many things have happened to both Riku and Cyn during the time they have been apart—things that made them the adults they are today.  I was very happy to see that Riku was going to get his happy ever after like this band mates did and that it was with a woman he loved once before.  I personally felt after learning all that happened to both Riku and Cyn while they were apart, that those differences made them more compatible now than if they had stayed together the entire time. I loved how they both had a sense of the outlandishness and yet how it affected both of them in different ways.  I also enjoyed seeing how Cyn and Riku both pumped each other up and completed each other.  Born to be Wild brings two strong willed personalities together with a combination of passion and compassion all rolled together with a bedrock of friendship, which makes for one great journey to love.

Now that all of the members of the Murder City Ravens have found their partners in life, I can see that I will need to begin at the beginning and read them back to back.

Nightstar, Book 4 Hunter wants Sabina as much as ever. One night together six years ago made him want more but he walked away and she couldn't come with him. Hot, sweaty sex to gentle, intense lovemaking, it's all fantastic with her. Watching her as she moves against him only makes him hotter. Sabina tried to forget Hunter and that magical, sex-soaked night when he'd spoiled her for other men. When she's offered an experimental operation to restore her hearing, Sabina might lose everything else-her job, friends and lifestyle-but she can't live without the chance to hear what took Hunter away from her. Murder City Ravens, the band he loves so much. Wanting to get him out of her system, she sleeps with him again, but it only makes her want him more.

Hunter Ostrander is the drummer for Murder City Ravens and is world famous now, but six years ago, he was just a drummer with dreams.  Hunter’s dreams weren’t all about fame and fortune, but after realizing that at least one of his desires would never happen, Hunter left home. Now he is about to walk in the door of his mother’s home, and the first thing Hunter sees is a woman he always regretted leaving behind.

Sabina Laugasdottir is mostly deaf, having lost her hearing after a childhood illness. Sabina feels like she lives with one step in each world, the hearing and the deaf, and that neither world is really hers.  Sabina never forgot the one amazing night she spent with Hunter, her boss’ son, or the fact that he never wrote her like he promised.  However, when given a second chance to spend time with Hunter, Sabina jumped at it even with the heartbreak he caused her last time.

Hunter knows that Sabina is everything he wants in his life and is willing to do just about anything to prove it to her.  The passion they shared six years ago bursts back as if no time had passed.  Sabina is doing her best to try and fit into Hunter’s rock and roll life and yet, in a way, she still feels separate unless she is with Hunter himself.  When Sabina is chosen to take part in a ground breaking surgery, Hunter is willing to walk away from the group’s tour to be with her.  What really happens is Hunter finds a way to keep his commitments with the band and be with Sabina as she undergoes the surgery and recovers.  Sabina’s doubts still plague her when Hunter is away, but when he decides to announce his love for her, Hunter does it in true rock and roll style and in a way that totally captures Sabina’s heart and love forever.

When a drummer gets a second chance at the girl he left behind, nothing is going to stop him from capturing her heart and soul—not even her.  Sabina and Hunter face every hurdle and bump and come out together in Fascinating Rhythm.  Hunter’s story could have broken my heart, but I could tell right off that Sabina was the one woman who could heal the old hurts and temper the new ones.  I loved how Sabina showed just how strong she could be with facing the unknown, both with her hearing and with loving a world famous rock star.  Hunter and Sabina’s chemistry just bursts from the pages and smolders almost any time they are together.  I also loved how the other members of Murder City Ravens and their other halves accepted Sabina and protected her when it was needed.  Fascinating Rhythm proves that when love is supposed to happen, it will, no matter the hurdles that have to be overcome. Nothing, but nothing, will stop it from happening.

Laura Wilkinson is a social worker and tonight she is trying to connect with the son of one of her clients that Laura has developed a soft spot for.  Laura has emailed with this man for several months now, and it just so happens that his work has brought him into her town.  A bonus to trying to meet her client’s son is that he works for one of her favorite bands, Murder City Ravens, and Laura is going to a concert to meet with him.

Zazz, the lead singer for Murder City Ravens, is one who has his own unique style and flair both personally and while on stage.  What no one knows is Zazz’s background and his real name.  As far as Zazz is concerned, his past is private and personal. So, when he knows that his father’s social worker is at the concert and coming back stage Zazz, is determined to avoid that particular Laura at all costs.

Laura can’t believe that she caught the eye of her favorite member of the band, and that she is taking off with him.  She has a brief thought about her mission, but decides that she can wait one more day to connect with James Asano, Junior.  What began as a dream night turns into a nightmare when Laura and Zazz discover just who the other is.  Passion, temper, and misunderstandings are how Laura and Zazz meet each other.  Now Laura needs to figure out if there is a way to bring Zazz and his father back together and if she wants to risk another personal encounter with him.  Zazz realizes a couple of things pretty quickly: one, that having a relationship with his father might not be a bad as he once thought and two, that he wants Laura to be his.  Can what began as a rocky beginning become a forever relationship filled with passion and love?

Take a social worker with a soft heart and love of music and add in an eccentric lead singer to a top rock band and you have the makings of a great love.  Laura and Zazz discover just this in Sail to the Moon.  After the explosive start that Laura and Zazz had, I really wasn’t sure if this book was long enough to bring them back together.  However, it only took a little understanding on both sides to show both of them that something very special was just at their fingertips.  I was very surprised to see how carefully Zazz kept his past and father from even his band mates.  Watching as Laura and Zazz not only developed their relationship but also helped his father into a future that would help him live out his life with those of a like background kept me flipping the pages pretty fast.  I really enjoyed how all the loose ends came together and how Laura and Zazz came out on top of the world.  Sail to the Moon brings the past full circle with the present and allows love to overcome the bitterness that had existed, all combined with the right touches of passion and friendship.

Nightstar, Book 3 Heart-stoppingly sexy Donovan Harvey, bassist for Murder City Ravens, is also a writer. At his first fantasy convention, he wants to launch his new book, not find the love of his life. He gets both. Allie, unabashed fan and book editor, can't believe she's locking lips with the bassist for the hottest band ever, but sometime during their first searingly hot encounter she discovers Donovan the man, not the rock musician, and she's even more smitten. They can't get enough of each other. In the shower, against the wall, even in bed, Donovan talks during sex, leading Allie through erotic fantasies, presenting her with scenarios she can't resist, setting her alight with steamy stories he'll never share with anyone else. She inspires him. He gives her ideas. But Murder City Ravens is on a world tour, and Allie needs to stay in New York if she's to make a success of her career. When her company asks her to poach Donovan from his current publisher, Allie hesitates, but her boss makes it impossible for her to refuse without losing her job. A Romantica® contemporary erotic romance from Ellora's Cave

Allison (“Allie”) Bartz is a new editor for her publishing house and is at her first conference.  Because she is there early with one of the senior editors and the author that Allie is to work with hasn’t arrived yet, they are both in the hotel bar the night before when Allie sees someone totally unexpected – the bassist for her favorite band Murder City Ravens.  What he is doing at a hotel nowhere near the area of their current tour is a question that Allie wonders as she is convinced to go up and see if she can get his attention.

Donovan Harvey is more than use to being recognized, but that usually happens when he is with the band or at one of their promo events.  Right now he is about as anonymous as he can be – at a writers conference to promote a new book he has coming out.  Of course it isn’t under his name, but Donovan wants its success or failure to be totally about the book not its author’s famous name.  When a cute woman comes up to him at the hotel bar, Donovan is more than willing to see where it will go, especially when she appears not to know his other self.

Allie knows before the night is over that she and Donovan could have something special, but she started it off with a lie about not knowing him and now she is being forced to pick between her job and protecting their budding relationship.  Donovan is seriously mad when he learns that not only did Allie know who he was but that she was going to spy on him too.  They overcome this misunderstanding but it seems that the publishing world isn’t done with trying to put a wedge between Allie and Donovan and it might even put that same wedge between Donovan and the Murder City Ravens.  Both Allie and Donovan have some serious decisions to make and making the right decision might just be the thing that really does tear them apart forever.  Actions have consequences, the question is can Allie and Donovan find a way to overcome those consequences and finally discover if their love is the lasting kind?

A chance encounter and passion lead to an explosive relationship and misunderstandings in Nice ‘n’ Easy.  The path that Allie and Donovan travel to find their future is not an easy one nor was it always easy to read about; however, when I turned the last page I knew that they had finally found the love that would keep them together for a very, very long time.  I felt sorry for Allie as she found herself in an impossible place having to pick between her job and her ethics.  While I could understand Donovan’s reactions when he discovered Allie’s lie, I had some trouble with his action towards Allie.  It seemed to me that every time Allie and Donovan had a chance to be together something would happen that would tear them apart again.  I never gave up on Allie and Donovan and thankfully neither did their friends because just when I wondered if Allie and Donovan could find their way together, that is exactly what happened to them.  Nice ‘n’ Easy is a turbulent journey through the worlds of publishing and rock ‘n’ roll that finally gave two people the future their hearts were demanding.
