The studio has had sound engineer Allegra ‘Alle’ Hutton working on remastering classical albums since they hired her, so she’s thrilled when they offer her a rock album. Black Halo is a band anyone would love to get their hands on, especially someone new in the field.
Everyone typically goes crazy for Black Halo’s lead singer, but Alle’s always had a thing for Spook Mortensen and his mad skills as a rhythm guitarist. Overwhelmed at first when she meets the band, Alle is soon brought back to Earth because Spook objects to her changes in a song track.
Not only does she get off on the wrong foot musically, but Alle makes it worse when she flirts with Spook and he reacts badly. Issues in his past make it impossible for Spook to start something sexual with Alle. Or so he thought…
Remastered pits artistic temperament together with sensual tension and the results are explosive. Alle and Spook are complex characters, one strives for notice and the other considers it a necessary evil. The plotline has true potential and their encounter builds quickly to flames. Unfortunately Alle comes off as too aggressive and without any real back story Spook’s issues can’t be sympathized. Everything is there to make Remastered a hit but some components don’t ring true.
