Dawn Wilson just left Interpol and joined the SSI crew as a female operative.  Dawn was more than ready to go into her first mission, especially since it was targeting a U.S. traitor who had attempted to kill several members of SSI, especially the woman, and who had also targeted Interpol.  What she wasn’t expecting was her first partner would be the sexy and pain-in-the-ass she met on her last mission in which SSI was involved.

Sam Crocker was an undercover CIA agent who as part of his cover worked as a mercenary.  A couple of his jobs put him in a position where he had to act like he was going to harm two of the women who loved some of the top men at SSI.  Sam wants to come in from the cold, and SSI is one of the only firms he would want to work for so that he no longer has to wipe the slime off daily just to complete his mission.  However, he knows that first off, he will have to face-off with his new boss and at least one other of his men.  And then he finds out that his new partner for the first mission is the lovely Dawn.

Sam and Dawn and one other operative are determined to bring down Sergio Manuel Lazaro, aka Syd MacLean, a top U.S. traitor who would love nothing more than to kill anyone attached to SSI.  They travel to a hotel to not only positively identify that Lazaro is MacLean, but to also get him in a place where he can be captured and returned to the U.S.  Dawn is going in as most of the world knows her, Lady Dawn Wilson, the daughter of an Earl.  Sam is a bit shaken by Dawn’s true identify, but the sparks between them and flare even higher as they close-in on not only one, but two nasty characters.  Of course, it wouldn’t be an SSI Op if something didn’t go wrong at just the wrong point, which happens to Dawn and Sam.  Only quick thinking, their passion, and trust in each other’s abilities will let the good guys win the day when the dust clears.

Two of the newest SSI employees are sent in to capture Enemy Number One as far as SSI is concerned.  Of course, it helps that he is also a wanted U.S. traitor.  Hot as Hell brings Sam and Dawn back together, only this time they are working on the same team and with the same mission plan.  A luxury hotel in a glamorous place is the setting for some hot passion and an even hotter take down.  I had to smile as Sam tried to get over his sense of Dawn being out of his orbit and arms, that is, until Dawn showed him that no matter who her parents are, she is still a woman who is just waiting for the love of the right man.  The suspense and danger was thick as Dawn, Sam and the backup circled in to take down an SSI nightmare, and an old threat of Dawn’s, to round things up.  I really loved the final showdown where both Dawn and Sam proved they are the perfect partners, both professionally and in love.  Hot as Hell is part tingly suspense and part hot passion with just the right touches of humor which provides a great few hours of reading.  If you love the SSI books, then you will not want to miss seeing Sam and Dawn find their happy ever after—especially if you remember their last cameos.

Cheri Stafford is a research assistant on the Galanti, and she is also a Terran.  Cheri and the other researchers were brought on board to find out why some Terrans are able to mate with the Prime and others could not and also why the Prime now have difficulties having children.  One thing they discovered is that any person with some Prime genes are able to mate with a Prime, if they find their specific Prime mate.  Cheri has found her mate, and it is a Prime that she lusts after, but she is beginning to wonder if he wants her.

Lt. Zaek Magga is one of Lolyn’s computer engineers, and he has searched for years for his mate.  When Zaek discovered his mate was one of the research assistants, Cheri, he made the hard choice to make sure his mate knew him before he claimed her. This decision is one that Zaek believes is right for Cheri…well, until she decides to drive him crazy while he is giving her time.

Cheri decides to find out why Zaek is not acting like the other Prime males who finds and claims his mate once and for all.  Using every female enticement she has, Cheri tries to get Zaek to act on his lust for her, only to be rebuffed.  When Cheri just out and out confronts him, it ends up being the mating that neither will ever forget.

A woman who is ready to be claimed by her mate takes action into her own hands to show her mate that Terrans can be just as fiercely in love as Primes can in Prime Claiming.  Cheri and Zaek’s mating might have been on the fast side compared to other matings but, for Cheri, it was lasting forever.  I enjoyed how she decided to give Zaek her best shot at resisting her female wiles and when he still resisted, went right for the heart shot.  I did love how Zaek tried to give Cheri the time to come to know him before his went all primal on her, but I had to laugh when he discovered just how determined a Terran woman in love could be to get her mate to claim her.  I found that their mating was all either could ask for even when you consider where they were.  Prime Claiming might be a short story, but it has all the romance you could ask for between two strong and determined people who became mates.

DJ Poe is out of the military now, but she is a fully-trained helicopter pilot and now she is the first female operative for SSI.  DJ is very thankful that her name was brought to the attention of the co-owners of SSI by the Walsh’s.  And she is even more happy that she was able to save her mother from years of abuse, and she is bringing her along to this new part of DJ’s life.  DJ had planned on an easy drive to SSI headquarters in Idaho, but when she stopped to get gas, DJ learns that several of the SSI women are inside, and there are tangos out to kill and kidnap her boss’ wife and child.  Not on DJ’s watch!

Stuart “Tweeter” Walsh is a computer nerd, but he is also a full- trained warrior just like all of his brothers.  The only difference is that Tweeter never entered the military, but instead went to MIT to keep his genius baby sister protected as she shot ahead in her schooling.  Now,Tweeter is the head of technology for SSI and in charge of keeping all of the SSI operatives and everyone else safe at all times.  When the call comes in about the threat to Tweeter’s sister and nephew, he is flying the first helicopter to arrive to assist.  As soon as Tweeter gets his first sight of DJ, he is struck silly by the instant attraction between them.

Tweeter knows just enough of DJ’s past to know that he will need to be a bit sneaky to gain not only her full trust, but also her love.  When DJ and Tweeter are teamed up together immediately for an op, it seems like the perfect time for Tweeter to show DJ that he is more than just one of the Walsh brothers and a geek.  DJ is leery of her attraction to Tweeter, but it doesn’t take long before DJ knows that he is probably the only man that she could ever see herself with.  When the op turns deadly, DJ and Tweeter show that they are the perfect team, both professionally and personally.  Just when they thought they could take time off to be just alone, yet another emergency—a very personal one—confronts them.  The Walsh’s adopted DJ when she risked it all for one of theirs and now they are more than willing to help her rescue the one family person that she loves.  Once again, SSI proves that you just don’t mess with anyone under their umbrella without serious, and sometimes, deadly consequences.

It was love at first sight for two highly-trained operatives.  Now they just need to be able to live long enough to be able to grab that golden future before them.  DJ and Tweeter will need all of their training, strength, and quick thinking to get that future in Storm Warning.  I just knew that whoever Tweeter loved would have to be just as strong-minded and soft-hearted as he was, and DJ is exactly that woman.  I really enjoyed watching as DJ showed just what she was made of in order to keep those she loved safe and at the same time proved that she was an excellent SSI operative.  I have loved Tweeter since I first met him, and I was thrilled to see him not only find DJ, but see how he quickly thought of a plan to show DJ that he was worth the risk of giving her heart and love to.  Of course, there was the great fast action fighting that I have come to expect from an SSI book.  DJ and Tweeter proved that you can be a kick ass couple (literally) and also be a couple deeply in love at the same time.  Storm Warning is packed full of fast action, suspense, and passion all wrapped up in a multi-angled plot that will keep you on your toes.

Dr. Brianna Martin is a Terran-raised leading researcher who has contracted with Prime stating that with her research, she might be able to find out the problem that has made pregnancy and child birth almost nonexistent in the Prime world.  She asked for permission to come to the Prime world so that she and her team can come up with a solution.  Brianna has a motive in trying to help the Prime before they become extinct; she is one of the lost Prime mates.  Brianna has kept this a secret until her life is in danger by the Pure Bloods, and she again contacts the Prime for emergency help.

Iolyn Caradoc is one of the sons of the Prime leader, and he thought for many, many years now that his Prime battle mate died in the last ditch effort of the Prime to save their children and females.  So to say he is stunned to find out that his mate is not only living, but requesting to come to the Prime world is putting it mildly.  Then he finds out that she has been attacked and is on the run. Nothing is going to keep Iolyn calm until he has his mate in his arms and in his bed.

Iolyn, his brothers and their mates, and the Galanti’s entire crew are now racing for Brianna and her team.  Once they all finally meet up, the danger isn’t nearly over, but Iolyn and Brianna are face-to-face for the first time since they were infants and their passion is ready to explode.  The trip back to the Prime world is full of adventure as it seems the Prime’s ancient enemies, the Antarean and others, are determined to strike at all Prime holds.  As Iolyn, Brianna, and the others start piecing the answers together, it all points to a highly placed betrayal on Prime itself.  Now everyone is back on the Prime world and trying to figure out who is behind everything. It turns out the betrayal is closer to the Caradoc family than ever imagined, and it is pretty personal.  The truth is out, but the mates are still in deadly danger.  Can the combined actions of the Caradocs and their mates bring an end to the danger facing all mates and the fertility problems before all is lost?

It’s one thing to know you had a mate and most likely lost her years ago, it’s another to discover that she is living and in deadly danger, and yet another to finally have your mate and almost lose her again.  Brianna and Iolyn face all of that and more in Prime Imperative.  I expected a lot of emotion while reading Iolyn and Brianna’s story, and I was not let down. I loved how Iolyn and Brianna fought to come together and still worked as hard as they did with his entire family to defeat the danger that has been directed at their mates and also solve the problems that have been affecting the Prime and fertility for so long.  I was amazed to discover just what was behind all of it and just how twisted someone can become over something. I foresee long, loving and child-filled lives for Iolyn and Brianna, along with his brothers and their mates and even the majority of the Prime.  Prime Imperative is full of highs and lows mixed in with suspense and passion—who could ask for anything more? I would suggest reading the books of this series in order so that you can gather all of the clues that seem to be sprinkled throughout them.

Elana Fabrizzio is a Washington DC college librarian who is working the late night shift.  The library is all but empty because of the big basketball game, so when Elana goes to gather the books that need to be put back she isn’t expecting to see many people.  That is exactly what she finds until she stumbles across a meeting and hears a murder for hire meeting.  Now all Elana can think of is to get out of there, alert the police and warn the subject of the murder plot – a woman she heard speak once.

Vanko Petriv is an agent of SSI (Security Specialists International) currently visiting with family in New York when he receives a call to go and find Elana and keep her safe.  She is the best chance they have at finding the government spy that has not only threatened SSI’s employees but has also tried to kill the owner’s wife.  Vanko is instantly on the job and learns that he might be too late when Elana finds that she has bad guys after her already.

Vanko saves Elana and gets her out of Washington DC but Mother Nature is against them and the weather is horrible.  Getting Elana back to SSI headquarters is out for now but Vanko believes he has a solution to keep her safe until the weather is better.  However, it seems that the news stories on Elana have alerted an enemy from Elana’s past.  Elana’s past is not what it seems and suddenly Vanko and Elana have to keep her safe from more than the government spy.  While all this is going on, an instant passion has sprung up between Elana and Vanko that both want the chance explore and they can only do so if they can defeat both threats to Elana.

A chance overheard meeting will bring a librarian and a security contractor together and lead to a lasting love.  Elana and Vanko discover that fighting for the chance to love is everything in Weather the Storm.  I have wanted Vanko to have his happy ever after since I met him in the very first book in the SSI series.  I truly thought that Elana was the perfect match for Vanko and loved just how much they had in common as her story slowly unrolled.  I enjoyed watching as they both used every trick they could to have the chance to have that future that was just beyond their reach.  I really loved that Elana fought just as hard in her own way as Vanko did to defeat every threat that they faced.  I have to say that I flipped the last page closed with a satisfied sigh.  Weather the Storm is a thriller with equal amounts of suspense and passion drawn together in the way that only Ms. Monette can to keep you involved and believing that the characters are someone you could meet at any time.
