SHE FOLLOWS THE RULESAs the Collegium council's top sheriff of the southeastern United States, Valeria Banning doesn't just take her job seriously, she takes it personally. So when a notorious traitor wanted by the authorities suddenly risks his life to save hers, she has to wonder why.HE BREAKS EVERY ONE OF THEMAs a mage, Griffin is sworn to protect innocents from dark magic, which is how he finds himself fighting side by side with the beautiful Valeria Banning. But when the council finds out the two have been working together, they're both left running for their lives-from the law, the threat of a ghoul takeover, and a possible Collegium mole. Word Count: 90,000 words.

Valeria Banning is the top sheriff of the Collegium Council, a group who train mages to protect both other mages and mundanes (normal humans) from rogue mages and dark magic, for the southeastern region of the United States.  Valeria takes her job very seriously, so when she wakes up from being hurt and finds herself being cared for by the very man she replaced – a mage who went rouge in the Council’s very chambers, Valeria is forced to make a choice. Does she take try and take in Griffin or does she search for the answers on why a rouge mage would help the woman who replaced him and is sworn to bring him down?

Griffin Dare will admit to going after one of the Council members in their chambers and then being on the run from the Council and its top forces – well some of them anyway.  However, when he came across Valeria after some ghouls had grievously harmed her, he couldn’t turn his back on her and used his contacts to help her heal.  Griffin knew that when she woke up it would take some fancy footwork to keep his identity hidden.  Some might consider Griffin rouge, but he had reasons for what he did and he is working with an underground to find the answers on what is going on within the Council and the college.

Valeria knows there is something wrong with what she has been told about Griffin and what her eyes are telling her.  The killer mage would not risk his life for mundanes or her and yet Valeria has watched Griffin do this time and again.  When attacks brings even more questions to Valeria about what is going on within the Council, Valeria joins  with Griffin and his underground and is amazed at just who else is part of this group.  Both Valeria and Griffin know that in order to get their final answers, they will need to clear Griffin of the serious charges against him. Knowing the risks, they start the formal process when Griffin is captured by the Council and is about to be sentenced without the chance to defend himself.  Valeria brings in the big guns to help prove the deceit and betrayal that has invaded the Council and the college.  Mages everywhere are going to be affected by the results of this hearing for a long time.  It will also determine if the love that Valeria and Griffin have will ever be given the chance to bloom.

Lies, betrayals and deceit bring two top fighters together only to discover that love can appear anywhere and at any time.  Renegade has fast twists and changes that kept me on the edge from the minute I opened it up.  I loved how both Valeria and Griffin didn’t just believe what they had been told about the other but also paid attention to the actions the other did.  While I wasn’t surprised that these two strong people fell in love, I was amazed at how they could risk everything to protect the innocent and each other.  I also loved how fresh this plot was with mages and ghouls and mundanes and fighting magic with magic.  Renegade is a paranormal without the normal standbys to lean on and I found it to be a quick paced and action packed love story with two lead characters that I fell for over and over again.  I can’t wait for the next book in this series to come out and what surprises it will bring.

When firefighter and paramedic Edie Lang arrives to battle a wildfire in southeast Georgia's Okefenokee Swamp, she's dismayed to encounter the man who ruined her life in just one night. Their reunion doesn't make helicopter pilot Josh Campbell any happier than Edie is. Despite their efforts to ignore each other, the sparks between them have not diminished, but neither intends to let them flare again. When one of them is gravely injured, the two discover their passion runs deeper than either of them could have imagined and they have Dr. Stefan Harper to thank for that chance.Dr. Harper is happy to have given the couple a second chance, but realizes through Josh and Edie as well as his good friends Val and Griff that what's missing from his life is love.35,000 words.

Edie Lang is a mage who uses her powers to fight fires and as a paramedic.  Danger is part of her daily life as she runs towards deadly fires to keep others safe.  Edie knows to keep her magic a secret, as the firefighters she works with are all humans, so she works her magic in ways that make the events seem normal.  Except the one time she met a mage pilot and the heat they raised that single night acted on that heat.

Josh Campbell is a mage pilot who flies into dangerous situations to help put out fires and to save lives with emergency EMT flights.  However, that is the only place that Josh is willing to face the rush of danger.  Because of his past, Josh wants a wife who meets his image of normal and a woman who runs into fires just isn’t part of the ideal.  That is why Josh never acted on the attraction he felt towards Edie when they met before.

When a firefighter is hurt during a forest fire, Edie quickly changes hats from a firefighter into an emergency EMT and rushes to help him.  It only figures that the pilot that swoops in to aid her and get the firefighter out is Josh – the man who pushed her away.  Edie still has that intense attraction towards Josh, but she isn’t about to give him another chance to hurt her.  But when what should have been a normal rescue mission turns into a life and death situation for Josh and Edie, it allows them the time to talk and discover just what is between them and also if their feelings are enough to overcome those hurtles.  But first they have to get rid of the bad magic that has attached itself to them before any chance at a future is lost.

Can two magic filled people who face danger daily find a way to keep the jobs they love and still have a normal and stable marriage? Josh and Edie hope so in Protector.   I was totally behind Edie as I read about how Edie and Josh met and what happened.  However, Josh grew on me slowly as I learned about what made him create his dream woman.  That is not saying I didn’t think he was a doofus at times by his actions, and yet when their lives were on the line Josh had the strength of character to protect Edie.  My heart broke when it appeared that even though Edie and Josh knew the obstacles between them, it didn’t appear they could overcome them and fulfill the passion that was just waiting for them.  But Josh proved that his feelings for Edie were much more than his past scares and I just know that no matter what they face in the future it won’t tear them apart.  Protector is passion and danger filled as Josh and Edie take a journey into the unknown and discover a love that will take them well into the future.

A POWER TO KILLFBI agent Camellia

Camellia “Mel” Wray is an FBI agent who right now is standing over the body of an old friend and vowing to do everything she can to find out who killed her and how.  Mel is also having a problem knowing that if she would have immediately come to visit her friend instead of needing to finish a case she was working on, maybe she could have stopped the murder.  Now Mel is making it her job to find the killer and bring him/them to justice by working with the locals and their experts.

Dr. Stefan Harper is the man that several law enforcement agencies call on for a consult when something on the case is strange.  In this case, Stefan also knows this town and its people pretty well and immediately comes when he gets the call and learns of the strange aspects, at least to those who don’t have his knowledge of the Protectors who protect humans from things they have no idea live around them.  When Stefan arrives for a personal look, he finds out that one of the officials is no other than Mel, the woman he loved and because he couldn’t tell her about what he really was left him.

The last thing Mel wants to deal with is Stefan and all the emotions he brings with him.  Mel can’t understand why Stefan sometimes acts like he was the one wronged all those years ago instead of her.  When the questions and evidence begin to point to otherworldly answers, Mel is not about to believe it.  She just believes that everything has a rational explanation.  However when Mel and Stefan are kidnapped, Mel not only has real proof that otherworldly beings exist but she also learns about the people who fight them to protect humans every day of their lives.  She also learns the truth about what really was going on when she and Stefan were together the first time.  But is it too much too late for their passion to survive?

Two lovers are given a second chance at love if they can only overcome the misunderstandings and obstacles in front of them in time.  Guardian is bringing Stefan and Mel back together and this time the truth will certainly be stranger than fiction.  I have to admit when I found out why Mel and Stefan broke up the first time; I could understand both sides easily.  I also felt sorry for both of them but especially for Stefan because of the rules that he had to deal with.  I began to wonder if Mel would ever be able to believe Stefan when he finally told her the truth.  I knew that if they could get past that, the passion would not be an issue between these two.  When Mel and Stefan were kidnapped, my thoughts turned to if they could both escape and if Mel could overcome the trauma to accept Stefan’s world and his love.  The final outcome was all I could have asked for.  Guardian took a second chance at love story and twisted it with great paranormal elements and suspense along with the passion for a perfect outcome.
