PI, Alex Hudson, can guard and protect like nobody’s business. After being hurt and nearly “destroyed” years ago, Alex utilizes his capabilities to keep himself separate from entanglements, especially from a certain doctor who seems to ignite something within him. However, Alex soon finds that he is called upon to protect the beautiful doctor when she is threatened by someone from her past.
Dr. Brit Cramer has seen quite a bit of pain in her practice. She knows how to handle things, and she’s not willing to back down no matter what. Yet, Brit also knows that there is more to the complete package of Alex Hudson, and she prefers to enjoy that view from a distance as he is just too much for her senses. When a predator bent on capturing her surfaces in her life, her friends call upon Alex to keep her safe, but who’s going to keep her heart safe from the delicious PI?
Keep Me Closer was a hot, sizzling romance with a good dollop of suspense to keep the tale intriguing. Rhyannon Byrd knows what she is doing when she writes those scorching scenes, and she does not disappoint in Keep Me Closer, either!
It took a bit of time to get past Alex’s hard jerky exterior, and he doesn’t fail in driving up the angst in a few scenes in Keep Me Closer. However, he also manages to charm his way and give rather than receive in a couple areas of Keep Me Closer. Brit seemed to give as good as she got too, but she was quicker to reveal a few home truths and expose herself more in Keep Me Closer. However, that is exactly what Alex needed to come to his full maturity in this tale in order to obtain the ultimate HEA in the end.
