Would you have sex with a stranger for one night for a half a million dollars?

Julianne “Jules” Carter could not believe the proposal that was presented to her.  All she has to do is have a night of sex with a man that she has never met.  In return, she would receive half a million dollars.  The temptation is too great because Jules is in major debt due to her mother’s illness.

After the explosion that left Erik Riley both physically and emotionally scarred, he detached himself from the world.  Work is his only sanctuary.  That was until he caught sight of Julianne Carter.  Her beauty spellbound him like none other.

As soon as Keegan Malone realizes that a special woman has caught Erik’s eye two years after the devastating accident, he is willing do anything to bring Erik back to life.  In order to keep Erik moving in the right direction, Keegan proposes a plan that Erik would find hard to resist.

Determination brings them into a passionate threesome affair.  Will love keep them in a meaningful and lasting relationship?

An Indecent Proposition is an emotional tale that will pull at your heartstrings.  I just wanted to hug Erik and never let him go.  I really like how Jules did not see the scars, instead she focuses on Erik as the man and with the devotion of Keegan they are able to pull Erik out of his self-misery.  The passion between the three is fast, gritty, and intense.  Whether as a twosome or a threesome, the sexual encounters between Jules and her men are extremely hot and had me melting with heated desire.  The only complaint I have with the plot is how the story ends.  While, I am happy with the result, I just feel there should have been an epilogue.  Nevertheless, An Indecent Proposition was a good read.

A magnet for lousy boyfriends in the past, warlock Finn de Morisco knows within days that he could happily spend the rest of his life with Brett Wright, a human.  At least that was the idea until Brett is savaged by a vampire, discovers he’s much more than human and insists on leaving Finn forever to deal with the knowledge that he’s a blending of demon and merman.

Falling into a deep depression Finn haunts The Square in Old Town where the dregs of the paranormal community hang out.  Finn’s large family tries again and again to help him come to terms with the loss of Brett, but it’s not until he makes the acquaintance of a fairy called Schwint that the warlock begins to rejoin the world.

Finding his merman father Therin and learning about his heritage opens Brett to an entirely new undersea world.  Their customs and hierarchy are sometimes difficult to understand, as well as dealing with the distrust Brett feels from the rest of the tribe. Brett thinks about his life on land and Finn less and less while he finds his way with his so called people.  It’s not until they need his expertise on land that Brett feels vindicated.  Are they using him or finally accepting he’s one of them?

Readers are taken on a wild joy ride in Rising Frenzy where nothing can be taken for granted.  Chapters take turns telling Finn’s point of view followed by Brett telling his story.  This unique, alternate world has heart pounding action and intense passion that never falters.  Don’t start this sequel before reading the previous book in order to get the full impact.  Long narrative will be appreciated by those who like every little bit of detail though others may feel it slows down the pace at times.  Finn’s self destructive dark days and Brett’s struggle for acceptance make for an angst filled, raw drama in Rising Frenzy.

Mary Schmidt knows only too well how thrilling a Master’s touch can be. Her husband, Charles, had been her ultimate fantasy, a seducer in the erotic dance of dominance and submission. She misses the sensual lifestyle they shared, but mourns him so deeply she cannot bear to embrace her submissive needs with another Dom—until a man who exudes temptation reawakens desires she can no longer deny.   Elliott Foster is dazzled by Mary. He instantly knows that she’s the woman he’s been waiting for—a woman who turns games into need. As her Master, he dares to unlock the deepest pleasures of her flesh, releasing her from pain and healing her mind. When Mary’s lithe body comes to life under his, he knows their connection goes beyond sex. Now that he has found the perfect woman, the perfect partner, the perfect submissive, he desires only to give her everything she craves.

Mary Schmidt is a woman of many hats; she is a caring doctor, a mother with adult children, a lonely submissive, and a woman who lost the man she loves and her Dom.  Mary lived the lifestyle that gave her and Charles so much love for many years, but since Charles died of cancer, Mary just can’t bring herself to try and find another Dom.  Mary has spent several years now living her life, but she is missing that huge part of her life which was entitled ‘bdsm’.

Elliott Foster is a business man who knows what he wants and how to get it.  Elliott is also a Dom who never really found the submissive that he knew would be the one.  Among his many business investments is working with Dimitri, the president of a casino in Vegas and a much younger Dom.  Then one night, while eating dinner with Dimitri and his submissive, Elliott meets Mary and feels a tingle that makes him know she could be someone special.

Mary is surprised at how she felt anything when she met Elliott and how much his type of control and giving orders reminded her of Charles.  Even more surprising is the invitation that Elliott dared Mary to accept—a night at his invitation-only bdsm night for the mature crowd.  Accepting that dare will put Mary in a place she never thought to be again, which is a submissive under a Dom’s control.  Elliott learns quickly that Mary is a very special submissive and woman and learns just as fast that she is still mourning her deceased husband.  Elliott tries to help Mary and instead of coming closer together, they seem to fall farther apart. But fate isn’t about to be denied and, once again, Mary and Elliott have a chance to find that special relationship that Dom’s and their submissives have. But only if Mary can find a way to let go of the past and accept a new love in her future.  With Elliot’s loving guidance, Mary discovers that love, be it older or newer, is all accepting if you give it a chance.

A second chance at love is usually more than most people can hope for, but for one special doctor, it is right in front of her if she can just accept it.  Mary and Elliott have many hurdles to overcome in Freed.  I was so happy to see that Mary was going to get a happy ending.  I wasn’t sure what type of man would have the patience and strength to help Mary get on with living, but Elliott was just that man.  I loved watching him gently help Mary embrace a future in a new relationship, while not losing the many memories of her first love.  Mary and Elliott’s story was so amazing in that it showed just because you were no longer in your twenties or thirties, you could still have that tingle when love is discovered. There are so few books where both the characters are mature professionals that make me fall into them and become believable, and yet Ms. Kennedy did just that in Mary and Elliott’s story.  If that wasn’t enough, she also put them into the unique lifestyle of bdsm and again made it believable that this was a lifestyle that both had lived in for many years.  Freed is one of the ultimate mature love stories with two characters that will make you love them while following their path towards a future filled with play and passion.

Nightstar, Book 4 Hunter wants Sabina as much as ever. One night together six years ago made him want more but he walked away and she couldn't come with him. Hot, sweaty sex to gentle, intense lovemaking, it's all fantastic with her. Watching her as she moves against him only makes him hotter. Sabina tried to forget Hunter and that magical, sex-soaked night when he'd spoiled her for other men. When she's offered an experimental operation to restore her hearing, Sabina might lose everything else-her job, friends and lifestyle-but she can't live without the chance to hear what took Hunter away from her. Murder City Ravens, the band he loves so much. Wanting to get him out of her system, she sleeps with him again, but it only makes her want him more.

Hunter Ostrander is the drummer for Murder City Ravens and is world famous now, but six years ago, he was just a drummer with dreams.  Hunter’s dreams weren’t all about fame and fortune, but after realizing that at least one of his desires would never happen, Hunter left home. Now he is about to walk in the door of his mother’s home, and the first thing Hunter sees is a woman he always regretted leaving behind.

Sabina Laugasdottir is mostly deaf, having lost her hearing after a childhood illness. Sabina feels like she lives with one step in each world, the hearing and the deaf, and that neither world is really hers.  Sabina never forgot the one amazing night she spent with Hunter, her boss’ son, or the fact that he never wrote her like he promised.  However, when given a second chance to spend time with Hunter, Sabina jumped at it even with the heartbreak he caused her last time.

Hunter knows that Sabina is everything he wants in his life and is willing to do just about anything to prove it to her.  The passion they shared six years ago bursts back as if no time had passed.  Sabina is doing her best to try and fit into Hunter’s rock and roll life and yet, in a way, she still feels separate unless she is with Hunter himself.  When Sabina is chosen to take part in a ground breaking surgery, Hunter is willing to walk away from the group’s tour to be with her.  What really happens is Hunter finds a way to keep his commitments with the band and be with Sabina as she undergoes the surgery and recovers.  Sabina’s doubts still plague her when Hunter is away, but when he decides to announce his love for her, Hunter does it in true rock and roll style and in a way that totally captures Sabina’s heart and love forever.

When a drummer gets a second chance at the girl he left behind, nothing is going to stop him from capturing her heart and soul—not even her.  Sabina and Hunter face every hurdle and bump and come out together in Fascinating Rhythm.  Hunter’s story could have broken my heart, but I could tell right off that Sabina was the one woman who could heal the old hurts and temper the new ones.  I loved how Sabina showed just how strong she could be with facing the unknown, both with her hearing and with loving a world famous rock star.  Hunter and Sabina’s chemistry just bursts from the pages and smolders almost any time they are together.  I also loved how the other members of Murder City Ravens and their other halves accepted Sabina and protected her when it was needed.  Fascinating Rhythm proves that when love is supposed to happen, it will, no matter the hurdles that have to be overcome. Nothing, but nothing, will stop it from happening.

Book 7 in the Urban Seductions series. Melissa is an Assassin and one of the best. Fiercely independent and with her own set of rules, she always works alone and never harms an innocent. When her best friend is murdered, she swears to hunt down the killer. But for that she needs information and assistance. Daniel Cranston believes strongly in working for the greater good but he didn't ask for a partner, particularly not a sexy blonde bombshell with revenge on her mind. When they realize how powerful their prey is, it's far too late to turn back. Melissa is determined to avenge her friend, and Daniel can't bring himself to leave her side. Passion and magic explode around them. On the tail of a rogue Assassin, one who is increasing his powers by draining his victims, what few rules they each hold dear are all going to be left far behind.

Melissa Geyton is an Assassin in the magical world that lives side by side with humans, and she has a reputation as one of the best assassins of today.  Melissa might kill people, but she has a strict code on what types of jobs she will accept, and she always works alone.  That changes when her best friend is murdered, and she realizes that the murder is only one of several.  Now, Melissa is on a personal mission to bring down the killer, and she is willing to call in markers to get the knowledge she needs.

Daniel Cranston is also an Assassin, but he loosely works with the Enforcers and human police when a mission demands it.  Daniel also has a strong sense on what cases he will take and what he won’t—that being he needs to feel like he is working for the greater good, and he also usually works alone.  However, when he is contacted to help Melissa locate and bring down this killer, Daniel finds himself agreeing to the partnership.

Melissa and Daniel work steadily on gathering and understanding the clues that will bring them the answers needed to discover this killer’s identity before he strikes again.  What they do know worries even them about the mind of the person they are after.  When another of their friends is not only killed, but drained, Melissa and Daniel know that time is no longer on their side.  The danger has always been high, but when Melissa is taken, Daniel forces the help that will not only capture the killer, but will get him to Melissa before it’s too late.

Take two strongly independent Assassins in a magical world and combine them with a mission to bring down a serial killer and the sparks fly in Edge of Ecstasy.  I really had to laugh a bit at how Melissa and Daniel circled each other while working as a team.  I wasn’t surprised at all by the fierce passion that exploded between them once they both gave in.  I loved the overshadowing touch of suspense that followed these two on their journey to love.  When I saw Daniel go crazy when Melissa was taken, I knew that nothing would stop him from getting her back, and I almost felt sorry for what would happen to the person who took her.  Edge of Ecstasy shows that passion can happen even when danger lurks in the background, especially when love is quick to follow.
