There’s a fine line between animal instinct and human desire—and in her “highly erotic saga” (Fresh Fiction), #1 New York Times bestselling author Lora Leigh crosses it. Now, in her new novel of the Breeds, the mating heat continues... Lion Breed and enforcer Rule Breaker has just a few rules he doesn’t break. Not for anything. Not for anyone—like never have sex with a woman outside his own breed, especially a human woman. Especially someone too helpless, too fun loving and too full of life to ever be able to protect herself, let alone help him to protect her. If the damned animal inside him insists on a mate, then why pick her? A woman who is an easy target and who can be used as a weapon against him at any time. But what he suspects is mating heat may not be that at all. Just his animal instincts rioting, pacing, irritated whenever he's away from her. Okay, he can handle that. What ensues is a fiery affair that breaks all the rules of mating heat and will eventually endanger his mate with the very rules designed to protect the Breeds—for she’s possibly been working against them...

Enforcer Rule Breaker is a lion breed with very strict rules for himself and one of his most important ones is to never, but never let himself mate.  Seeing the horrors that happened to his family in the labs is something that Rule will never forget and the reason he will never allow any woman to become that tied to him.  But there is one woman who Rule has been waiting for, just waiting until she was no longer a teen.  Now the time has come for Rule to act on the fierce attraction he feels for her and he knows for a fact she isn’t his mate because he has none of the known mating aspects.  Game on.

Gypsy Rum McQuade lost her childhood as a young teen when she watched her brother be killed while trying to save her from Council coyotes who were using her against him and ended up losing even more than that.  That night changed Gypsy’s life forever, now she has two lives – one in the dark shadows and one is the bright light of society.  Gypsy is determined to do everything she can to prove herself, for what and to whom only she will never admit even to herself.  Life has been hard enough lately but now she seems to have one hard and hot lion on her tail and he wants to play.

Rule’s instincts has had him spending the past several years protecting Gypsy as well he could, but somehow she still became the focal point in the semi-secret mission the Breeds are doing in the Navajo Nation in New Mexico. Rule knows that Jonas will do anything to protect and save his baby daughter’s life, even if it means using a woman he swore to protect years ago.  Gypsy can tell that something is afloat with the Breeds and even her friendship with many of them might not be enough to help her if the truth about what and whom she knows ever comes out.  Rule would lay down is life to find the answers to save Jonas’ daughter but not at Gypsy’s expense.  The lust that both Rule and Gypsy have been ignoring for years won’t be ignored any longer but just when ecstasy should have ruled the night, Rule discovers that maybe he didn’t know himself as much as he thought.  Even worse, his actions may have caused an insurmountable divide between him and Gypsy.  The answers that Jonas, Rule and the other Breeds have been hunting for in New Mexico are about to come out and they will bring about even more hurt and heart break before it’s all over. Relief, joy and happiness will greet some, while sorrow, betrayal and disbelief will await others – which side of the coin will Rule and Gypsy end up on or will they even be on the same side with it’s all over?

It’s a battle of the wits when an enforcer finally meets a will he can’t ignore any longer when passion bursts to life.  Rule Breaker shows Rule and Gypsy that sometimes you just can’t let past horrors determine the future.  My heart broke for Gypsy when I read about what changed her life when she was so young and what her life had become.  I have wondered for a while if Rule would ever meet a woman that would allow him to feel the intense love needed to mate and soothe his soul.  Once I saw them together, I knew that when Gypsy and Rule finally allowed themselves to accept what was between them it would be intense and would engulf them and I wasn’t wrong.  I have followed the mini arc that has been in the last several Breed books involving the Navajo Nation and the hunt to save Amber’s life.  So many answers were found in this book and yet I saw a few more threads that seemed to unravel just as others were knotted tightly.  The paths that Gypsy and Rule walked that lead them not only together but allowed them to still fight the good fight had me reading late into the night and yawning all the next day at work.  Rule Breaker is intense and playful, suspense and passion filled all while proving to two very stubborn people that some things just can’t be denied.

Ms. Leigh is pretty much an auto buy for me, but even saying that Rule and Gypsy’s story is the ultimate in moving along a story line while being hot enough to steam while you read it. Yes, you guessed it – I just knew that Rule Breaker would be a must read from me and also a Joyfully Recommended book.  I just know that it will be a story you won’t forget anytime soon.

From the author of Dreamspinner and A Dance Through Time... ESCAPING INTO THE PAST... Derrick Cameron, antiquities dealer and adventurer, is furious when the priceless piece of Elizabethan lace he's been pursuing slips right by him, in the improbable custody of a mousy textile historian! But he will retrieve it, even if it means dragging a very skeptical, albeit adorable, Samantha back in time with him. After all, he is used to living dangerously—in whatever century he finds himself. Conscientious Samantha Drummond never dreamed the package her British employer gave her would lead her into places an ordinary gal should never go—like Elizabethan England!—or throw her into the company of one extremely attractive, but highly suspect Highlander who not only thinks she's a thief, but insists on involving her in his mad schemes to retrieve his stolen treasure. CAN LEAD YOU STRAIGHT INTO YOUR FUTURE... Trapped first in Elizabethan England, then caught in a web of modern-day intrigues, Samantha and Derrick are forced into an unlikely alliance by peril, never imagining that what they're forging is a timeless love....

Derrick Cameron is an adventurer in his spare time with a real job of tracking down missing antiques for their owners.  Set up with a new case of locating some missing Elizabethan lace brings him into Samantha Drummond’s life.  Trailing the young sheltered woman teaches Derrick that there is more to this story.

Samantha Drummond has FINALLY been able to get out of the reach of her overbearing, pompous parents and on another continent for a housesitting job. However, things seem a bit odd when she notices similarities to the man that continues to pop in and out of her world. He insists that she has some contraband upon her person and she soon finds herself in a world unlike her own, yet one that she knows a little about.  Derrick and Samantha are soon forced to trust each other as they work to solve this mystery and other emotions quickly follow.

Roses in Moonlight is a truly fantastical romantic read! Roses in Moonlight  was heavy on the sweet with just the right amount of protective alpha to give it a warm cozy feeling, and a great book to curl up with.

I liked how Derrick and Samantha slowly fell in love, and that she found it odd to buy into what he claimed was set about in modern England.  However, if you have read any of Lynn Kurland’s novels you will know that what Derrick speaks of is the truth in her world.  The dialogue and chemistry churning between the characters made Roses in Moonlight feel like a refreshing, light hearted romp that was just plain good fun!

I truly enjoyed the fact that Derrick and Samantha found a way to make her brother suffer a bit for his actions and that everything was tied up in a neat little bow at the end of Roses in Moonlight. Lynn Kurland almost always hits the nail on the head for me!

New York Times bestselling author Jacquelyn Frank returns with the sizzling second book in her sensual new series set in the World of the Nightwalkers—where alluring entities known as Bodywalkers face the ultimate threat. After being brought back from death, police officer Jackson Waverly receives the shock of his life: he has become host to a Bodywalker, a spirit that is reborn in flesh and blood, and part of a proud, ancient race that uses its extraordinary gifts to battle dark, evil forces. Jackson's spirit is a powerful one—none other than the Egyptian pharaoh Menes, who longs to reunite with his eternal love, the Egyptian queen Hatshepsut. While Menes is obsessed with finding the perfect vessel for his queen, Jackson cannot stop thinking about Dr. Marissa Anderson, the gorgeous precinct shrink who keeps pushing him to confront his grief over the loss of his K-9 partner. But what Marissa really arouses most in Jackson is intense desire, which is exactly what Menes is looking for. To fight a great enemy, pharaoh and queen must join; but to host Hatshepsut, Marissa will first have to die. Fate has given Jackson a profound choice: save Marissa from Menes's plan or keep an entire species from the brink of extinction.Includes a preview of

Jackson/Menes knows that it’s time to move on because the longer he stays with the force and around his friends, he is putting them in danger from the bodywalkers who would love nothing more than weaken or kill Menes’ host and put him back into the mist.  Once again its danger that teams up Marissa and Jackson and places them on the run for safety.  The Templars have discovered just where Jackson is and also that he isn’t fully merged with Menes.  They have also found the perfect way to hurt Jackson personally by kidnapping his best friend and family by choice.  Marissa suddenly learns just what happened to Jackson; while shocked, it doesn’t dampen the passion she has for him.  If running for your life with the person you love isn’t enough, learning that your lover has very specific plans for you that could involve death and lasting love is the final hurtle that Marissa must face before she can have Jackson as she has always wanted him, if they can make it to safety in time.  The question is can Jackson and Marissa find the love and the trust to fulfill Menes’ request and hopes?

A slow moving passion is thrust into full love while two lovers fight and run from the suspense and danger that now affects their lives.  Forever takes Jackson and Marissa to the ultimate love if they can only survive the threats that have now focused on them.  Jackson hates leaving the force and his new dog, but he knows his new life will bring the same feelings and sense of fulfillment.  However, Jackson cannot and will not leave without one last chance to have Marissa at his side.  Marissa isn’t sure how to merge her personal feelings for Jackson with her professional obligation to help him deal with the death of his last dog partner and becoming a team with his new dog partner.  I loved how strong both Jackson and Marissa were throughout this entire book.  Even while Marissa didn’t know the entire truth about Jackson’s sudden turnabout, she was trying to help him and love him.  I thought that Jackson the officer merged well with Jackson/Menes when fighting to protect those he loved.  The part where Marissa and Jackson finally addressed what Menes’ hopes were and what would have to be done to achieve them, showed me beyond any doubt that the love that Marissa and Jackson have might even be equal to that between Menes and his queen, Hatshepsut.  Forever is a true test of love and trust while Marissa and Jackson fought for the right of survival and their forever after ending.

Every picture tells a story. But not all of them have happy endings. As a forensic photographer at the Delphi Center crime lab, Maddie Callahan is used to seeing violence up close, but she’s never before been the target of it. When a freelance photo shoot goes awry, she realizes she may have seen, and perhaps photographed, the kidnapping of a key witness in a federal probe. And although her camera was stolen, Maddie knows she has something that could be even more valuable to investigators. FBI agent Brian Beckman has spent months investigating a vicious criminal known as the Doctor, only to have a key witness abducted on his watch. Worse, he’s falling for the woman who may be the Doctor’s next target. Maddie’s aloof facade hides a world of hurt that he wants to heal, no matter how much she keeps him at bay. But first he has to protect her from the danger that’s just out of focus, drawing close enough to shoot . . . and kill.

Along with taking pictures of happy couples and smiling toddlers, Maddie Callahan moonlights as a forensic photographer for the Delphi Center. When she unknowingly captures some very bad men on film while shooting a couple’s engagement pictures, her life is thrown into danger. FBI Agent Brian Beckman is investigating the possible connection Maddie’s attack has to the case he’s trying to solve. The almost immediate attraction between them puts Maddie on edge. Brian’s everything any girl would want, but Maddie isn’t interested in what Brian’s offering. Keeping their relationship strictly professional is proving just as hard as solving the case.

I sympathized with Maddie for the heart-wrenching loss she endured in Exposed. I’m not sure I could have pulled through it. Her reticence to find happiness with Brian is understandable for many reasons. I really wanted her to take the leap, though. Brian is a great guy, and he’s so good to and for Maddie. As Maddie and Brian struggle to find common ground, a killer weaves a complex story of greed, power, and ultimately betrayal. The sensuality of Maddie and Brian’s relationship keeps things sizzling and the suspense ratchets up with each page. Exposed is the perfect addition to an excellent series.

When it comes to passion this hot, it’s all or nothing. Olivia Townsend’s wealthy cousin Marissa had everything a girl could ask for—a great job, a privileged life, and all the friends she wanted. Or, at least, all the friends money could buy. But one case of mistaken identity has turned her privileged world upside down. An abduction gone wrong lands her right in the lap of the sexiest, most dangerous man she’s ever met. To Marissa, he’s an enigma, but one to whom she’s irresistibly, inexplicably drawn. With him comes a new world of freedom and passion, of dark shadows and dangerous secrets, a world where nothing is what it seems—except for the blind passion that Marissa can’t escape—or maybe even survive.

Marissa has everything and doesn’t mind rubbing things in others’ faces.  However, Marissa is mistakenly taken one night, and she soon realizes that there is more to her than what others had molded her into.  Nash is back!  He has a huge chip on his shoulder, and he means to resolve some issues from his past.  Marissa is there for the taking, and he plans on “taking” her for a ride as well.  Yet, Nash soon finds that Marissa and he are two halves to a whole, but he’s not sure if he can handle the long haul.

Everything for Us was a fabulous way to wrap up A Bad Boys Novel.  Marissa and Nash were two unlikeable characters from the previous books, but somehow they grew on this reader.  Perhaps it’s the whole watching them change in Everything for Us that did it for me.

Everything for Us didn’t really explore all the psychological aspects of what Marissa and Nash went through, and I found that was okay.  Everything for Us wrapped up A Bad Boys Novel and left me wanting to explore some of the secondary characters as well.  The storyline that carried through all three novels was tied up nicely, and I was just happy that these two wounded people, Nash and Marissa, were able to find their HEA.
