One bad hand of cards stranded Eliza on a failing ranch in the middle of nowhere. She'd do anything to sell the ranch and make her way back to the city, even seduce the handsome stranger who rides into town and expresses an interest in her land. It's been hundreds of years since anything has caught Daniel's interest. He doesn't expect much in the two-bit dusty town he's passing through to change that...until he sets eyes on the sassy, stubborn Eliza. A look ignites their chemistry and soon enough a shared dinner is tossed aside for more carnal delights. Eliza and Daniel both have plenty of reasons to keep their affair to a single night, but the sex between them takes temptation to a whole new level. Now every time they try to walk away, they're reminded that some cravings can never be satisfied. Inside Scoop: This 19th century western features a smooth-talking vampire looking to get a little wild on his way out West. A Romantica(r) western historical erotic romance from Ellora's Ca

Traveling through the Wild West Daniel Hastings stops for a night in tiny Haley.  Stopping means that he can get a drink in the saloon, a hot meal, and a hopefully clean bed to sleep on. And maybe a warm neck to sip from.

All Eliza Dunbro can think about is getting out of Haley and back to civilization, such as Kansas City.  The small ranch Eliza has outside of town is on its last leg, especially now that someone has stolen her cattle and taken all the meat and supplies she had stored.

Daniel and Eliza meet under the most unusual of circumstances.  He’s having a drink when she enters the saloon to confront certain patrons with their illegal activities at her ranch.  Instant attraction leads to dinner and from there so much more.  Eliza isn’t anything like the women Daniel’s been with in the past.  He can’t even glamour her after taking blood.  This could be very awkward or the start of something extremely special.

Brush off the trail dust and indulge in a sweet, sexy romance.  An entertaining blend of aww shucks innocence and a weary threat, Vampire Cowboy smartly intertwines the Old West with vampire lore.  This little story tells of a compelling seduction between two lonely people clearly meant for each other.  The West comes alive once more in Vampire Cowboy.

HE MAY BE HER ONLY HOPE. SHE MAY BE HIS LAST CHANCE.   Miranda Wentworth never imagined becoming a mail-order bride. Now marriage to a stranger is her only hope of finding a home where she and her two younger brothers can escape the brutality of the Chicago orphanage where they live. With any luck, she can even start a family of her own, once the three of them are settled at Jacob Creed's Texas ranch. But Miranda has one gigantic concern: Her husband-to-be knows nothing about the brothers she's bringing along. What if he calls off the deal when he discovers the trick she's played on him? Jake Creed is hanging on to his Texas ranch by his fingernails. His nemesis, Alexander Blackthorne, is determined to ruin him. Jake will never give up, but he's in desperate trouble. His wife died six months ago in childbirth, along with their stillborn son, and his two-year-old daughter needs a mother. The advertisement Jake wrote never mentioned his daughter--or the fact that he has no intention of consummating his marriage. He's determined never to subject another wife to the burden of pregnancy. But Jake doesn't count on finding his bride so desirable. He doesn't count on aching with need when she joins him in bed. And he never suspected his bride would have plans of her own to seduce him.

Miranda Wentworth will do anything to protect her younger brothers from the rod of the mistress at the orphanage.  Since she has to leave the orphanage because she will be of age, she has no choice but to take her youngest siblings with her.  Fate had answered her dilemma in the guise of becoming a mail-order bride to a stranger in Texas.  However, Miranda wasn’t too sure that her groom-to-be would accept these young stowaways since she never mentioned them to him.  She comes up with a slick little plan and hopes it will play out well for her HEA.

Jacob Creed is in need of a wife to help out at the ranch so that he doesn’t lose it his enemy.  He keeps mum about his “conditions” for his bride-to-be, and he fails to disclose that he already has a child.  He has his own goals in completing this quick marriage of convenience.  He certainly doesn’t think that he will desire his wife either!  However, Jacob soon finds that even his “conditions” may not be enough to hold off a woman intent on seduction!

Texas Bride was a heart wrenching sweet tale of romance with just the right amount of realistic conditions added to jack up the angst.  I didn’t like the hardships that Miranda had to endure, but I felt that they were probably authentic to the time period in Texas Bride.  Jacob wasn’t one of those great billionaires either, but more a down-to-earth hard-working man that truly deserved his HEA in Texas Bride.

The development of the secondary characters added more to the overall story, and answered some questions that were brought to life, since I read the series out of order.  However, I was still looking for resolution in their stories as well in Texas Bride.  Yet I can’t find fault with Jacob and Miranda’s love story in Texas Bride

I felt invested with Jacob and Miranda and cried at several points in Texas Bride.  I liked that Jacob learned to take a risk and that Miranda learned to trust Jacob in Texas Bride, as well. The dialogue was witty and entertaining at several points and engaged me in the lives of the various characters.  The fact that I could become involved in this historical western, which I don’t normally read, makes Texas Bride a Joyfully Recommended read!

Their love never died, but her secrets could break his trust beyond repair. Texas Montgomery Mavericks, Book 1After six years and too much self-recrimination, rancher Mitch Landry is ready to admit he was wrong. He’d loved Olivia Montgomery but commitment wasn’t high on his list back then. That was his first mistake. He’s just divorced his second, and he’s set to do whatever it takes to convince Olivia to give him another try. Through hard work, determination and more than a few tears, Olivia survived the break-up with Mitch. She’s rebuilt her life around her business and the son she loves more than life itself. She’s not proud of the mistakes she’s made—particularly the secrets she’s kept—but when life hands you manure, you use it to make something better of yourself...lest you get stuck in it. At a hot, muggy Dallas wedding, they reconnect. Olivia’s first instinct is to play it cool, but after one devastating kiss things flare real out of control, real fast. Maybe a quick roll in the hay will get him out of her system once and for all. Funny thing about hay though, once it’s tangled in your hair, getting it out risks revealing things that were never meant to see the light of day. Warning: Contains hot sex, a vindictive ex-wife, and hot chocolate chip cookies.

Mitch Landry didn’t think the time was right for Olivia to settle down with him six years ago, so he walked away from her hoping that she would experience more of life and be ready to jump in then.  However, six months after leaving her, he married his deceased brother’s pregnant girlfriend.  Mitch wanted to give the unborn child a name; he thought he was doing the honorable thing.  Now Mitch is back, ready to make amends for his decisions in the past and admit fault for hurting Olivia.  At least he was until he discovers what Olivia has been hiding from him all these years and now Mitch is madder than a hornet!

Olivia Montgomery Gentry made her own decisions and moved on with her life the best way she knew how, especially because Mitch had left her with a parting gift.  One that she will do ANYTHING to protect!  Olivia has one divorce in her past, but she can’t truly regret that marriage because her ex had helped her through so much, and he still plays a role in her life.  However, Olivia doesn’t want Mitch to think they can take up where they left off, and she really doesn’t want him to discover her secret—a secret that apparently everyone knows about, but Mitch!

Texas Two Step is a captivating, accomplished love story.  It kept me engaged and renewed my love of romance stories.

Texas Two Step saved Mitch for me by providing his POV, because without it, I wouldn’t have minded him standing behind a horse or two.  He really did come across as that donkey’s behind, but what came out of his mouth didn’t always mesh with his thoughts.  Texas Two Step had Olivia coming across as being full of pride and this further explained her keeping the secret from Mitch.  Who would want him on those terms?  Well, obviously the ex-wife did, but that is another story.

I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that Texas Two Step had Olivia moving on with her life after Mitch rather than staying celibate and hoping and waiting for him to come back.  It was nice to see that while he felt his marriage shouldn’t bother her because it was family obligations, hers definitely bothered him.

Texas Two Step is a recommended read because I got both POVs, and Mitch and Olivia were equal in the mistakes that they ultimately made, but they both had good intentions.  I found myself flipping from one side to the other throughout Texas Two Step as things were revealed.  I didn’t agree with the characters’ choices in their past, but I felt that the author fully justified their reasoning for making those decisions.  Ultimately, I felt Mitch and Olivia were completely sorry for the selections that they made, and they saw the other’s perspective as well.  In the end, Mitch just wants to work through the hindrances of the past and build a future together and, frankly, I was happy for them in the end of Texas Two Step

In this poignant and deeply sensual new contemporary romance—perfect for readers of Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Rachel Gibson—Molly O’Keefe proves that lost loves don’t have to stay lost forever.   Dallas TV morning show host Madelyn Cornish is poised, perfect, and unflappable, from her glossy smile to her sleek professionalism. No one knows that her iron will guards a shattered heart and memories of a man she’s determined to lock out. Until that man shows up at a morning meeting like a bad dream: Billy Wilkins, sexy hockey superstar in a tailspin—still skating, still fighting, and still her ex-husband.   Now the producers want this poster child for bad behavior to undergo an on-air makeover, and Billy, who has nothing to lose, agrees to the project. It’s his only chance to get near Maddy again, and to fight for the right things this time around. He believes in the fire in Maddy’s whiskey eyes and the passion that ignites the air between them. This bad-boy heartbreaker wants a last shot to be redeemed by the only thing that matters: Maddy’s love.

Dallas AM Talk Show Host Madelyn Cornish has worked her way up from the bottom to get to where she is now. However, her past is about to come back to haunt her. Madelyn’s ex-husband has just become part of her day job.

Hockey star Billy Wilkins has a horrible reputation and if he doesn’t fix his bad boy image he’s going to be out of a job. A makeover opportunity arises and Billy’s against it until he learns it will be on his ex-wife’s show. Billy will use any excuse to get closer to his Maddy once again.

Crazy Thing Called Love has become my all-time favorite contemporary romance! Maddy and Billy’s story is so special. I’m completely in love with Crazy Thing Called Love. I’m not always a fan of reunion romances but Molly O’Keefe uses her magic pen to create a golden story with Crazy Thing Called Love! When I flipped to the last page of this story I immediately wanted to start it over and that rarely happens!

Maddy and Billy are oh so stubborn which only makes their story greater! There are parts that will have you tearing up they are so heartbreaking! These parts really give this story such depth. Maddy and Billy’s story is full of drama, laughs and tons of sexy parts that heat things up. These two cannot deny the passion that flows between them at all times.

One of the things that I love about Ms. O’Keefe’s work is her ability to weave life into her books. She makes it feel like you could meet her characters on the street and strike up a conversation with them. The obstacles that her characters face are gripping and engaging. Maddy and Billy face so many roadblocks but watching them find their way around them is perfection. Don’t miss out on O’Keefe’s Crooked Creek series! These are the books you will still be talking about in twenty years!

Sometimes life doesn’t go according to plan. Sometimes it’s better. Compass Girls, Book 1Sienna Compton has it all figured out. Her life’s goals are set and it is all systems go. At least, it was. Until her long-time boyfriend Josh threw a ringer into the master plan, requesting a “break” from their relationship. Now she’s left alone during the long, cold Wyoming winter, questioning what her heart has always believed to be true love. Daniel Lennon is facing an uncertain future. When a tragic accident leaves him unable to pursue his career as a professional bull rider, he finds himself at Compass Ranch, working to help Sienna’s father, Seth, build his horse breeding business. One look at Sienna has Daniel envisioning things he never imagined wanting—a permanent home, love, marriage—and he’s willing to use all the red-hot tricks in his sexual arsenal to melt the ice surrounding Sienna’s broken heart. When lust turns to genuine emotion, can Daniel convince Sienna to take a chance on something different and unexpected? Can he persuade her to consider a new path, one that will lead her directly to his arms...forever? Warning: Roping and riding, past and future, cold winter and fiery desire, lust and love all come together in this new Compass series. Saddle up and hang on. The Comptons are back!

Sienna Compton has had her life planned out practically since birth.  She’s going to marry her high school sweetheart Josh and they will have one big happy family.  However, things change rapidly when Josh needs a little “me” time and a handsome stranger walks into Sienna’s life.

Professional Bull Rider Daniel Lennon was forced to retire after a horrible accident.  He’s been content to travel until he finds himself at Compass Ranch helping Seth Compton with his horse breeding business.  Daniel can see himself staying here forever especially after he gets a good look at Seth’s daughter Sienna.  But can he convince Sienna that he’s the man to change her plans for?

Mari Carr and Jayne Rylon take us back to Compass Ranch and it’s filled with a new generation of Compton women ready to find love.  I wasn’t sure I was ready to revisit the powerful Compton men so soon after the first series, but I was pleased with Sienna and Daniel’s story.  Sienna is your typical stubborn Compton.  She’s so determined for her life to go a certain way and she gets very frustrated when life throws her a curve.  Good thing Daniel is determined as well.  Daniel and Sienna are downright hot together. The emotions between then are high and provide tons of heat.

I really love the relationship between all of the Compton girls.  They provide lots of laughs and love in this story and I look forward to the rest of them finding their true love.  Carr and Rylon give the reader lots of heart in the powerfully romantic Winter’s Thaw.
