An intergalactic war turned the Earth into a veritable wasteland.  Survivors fled for a new life in the stars.  The ravaged planet was renamed Old Earth and became the Pandemonia Penal Colony.  It is a dumping ground for murderers, thieves, and political dissidents among others.

It is the year 4035.  Dr. Swane Fox, a behavioral scientist, is determined to study the population of Pandemonia.  The good doctor grew up on a planet devoid of conflict, a very peaceful people and he’s driven to learn what causes such violent tendencies.  Because a particular group of scientists have a stranglehold on the comings and goings of the penal colony Swane has forged papers to spend time as a convict on the planet.

Dropped planet side everything goes wrong from the start.  He wakes up in the hovel of a man called August whose temper runs hot or cold at the drop of a hat.  August is quick to point out how naïve Swane was to think he could study the people living there.  It is a war zone and everyone is out for themselves in Pandemonia.  Secrets are the currency and the doctor is certain that August is loaded.  Falling for the gruff prisoner is making the situation both worse and better to handle.  Too soon Swane will be forced to leave without the mysterious man he’s come to love.

Author Darcy Abriel pens an edgy, dark tale in Fortuity which explores the human will to survive.  Readers are plunged into a bleak reality where right and wrong sometimes count for little.  Swane and August are polar opposites.  They have a sensual, contentious relationship that somehow works in this story.  A unique setting, fascinating characters, and a chilling plotline is told in Fortuity, the first book in the Pandemonia series.

Pandemonia Penal Colony of 4024 has evolved into a distinctive civilization where criminals and political prisoners alike are dumped and forgotten.  Over time families are formed, children are born and their ties are strengthened.   As no one seems to care what happens to those on Pandemonia a sect of scientists have free rein to run experiments that would otherwise be illegal or immoral.

Drace is in control of a large area of what was once Paris, France.  One of many survivors of experimental DNA splicing Drace is a dragogen, a human/reptile hybrid.  Wanting to discover what Dr. Beljon, the assistant director of Scientific Interrogation, is up to he has the doctor’s disciple kidnapped.  Crispin Wills, the disciple, is exactly the dragogen’s type which points to Drace being set up.  As days pass and nobody seems to want Crispin returned it appears the dragogen was correct.

Getting Crispin to divulge his secrets is more difficult than expected.  Using torture won’t work; using seduction however proves far more stimulating and effective for both Drace and Crispin.  When the disciple finally breaks the dragogen is forced to applaud the scientist’s devious methods.  Saving Crispin won’t be easy, but Drace is one stubborn dragogen.

Book two in the Pandemonia series comes out swinging with Combustible.  Intriguing characters are set within a compelling plotline, at first seductive then steamy and finally an explosive climax.  Drace is a taciturn, intelligent alpha.  Crispin is a survivor stuck between a rock and a hard place.  The gritty future in Combustible is a scary, dark place indeed.

Television writer Teddy Greist has two things to be very thankful for these days.  Hired to write for Oahu P.D., the show is luckily a big hit and he’s found a man worth loving.  Even his mongrel dog Vic loves his boyfriend Song Smith.

The head writer is kind of a jerk and that’s to be expected in television land so Teddy can deal with it.  What he’s suddenly having a problem dealing with is Song acting weird and dumping him without warning.

Song didn’t expect to fall for Teddy and now that he has he’s got a dilemma.  How do you tell the man you love that a family curse is real?  If he doesn’t go through with the terms of the curse…well, it won’t be good.  Maybe it’s easier to simply end things.  Yet if Teddy is willing to accept the consequences of the curse they can be together.  What to do. What to do.

A genuinely delightful romance takes a turn into the bizarre when Teddy hears About a Dragon.  Teddy is a likeable, sincere guy and so is Song, except for the problem of a little family curse.  Their story has an engaging plotline and fast moving dialogue which culminates in a wild ending.  The surprise is definitely worth a chuckle or two.  About a Dragon is lighthearted Hawaiian fun with characters that make this tale enjoyable.

Jeff is having a hard time adjusting to life as a civilian after his five year stint in the Navy, but Jeff is already setting himself up to work in the Corpus Christi DEA office. Still, living in a boarding house and eating chili every night is getting old and making him miss the regulated life that he had while living on base. One night Jeff decides to go out driving until he finds something different – but he never expected to land in a gay bar that has Hunter, one of the most stunning men he has ever seen, singing. Jeff is feeling lust at first sight – but will he have the nerve to act on it?

Corpus Christi is a funny and sexy story about lust turning into love. Jeff is young and inexperienced, but when he lets his hair down with Hunter things heat up and get steamy in a second’s time. Hunter, being older and more experienced, takes great delight in introducing Jeff into the wonders of passionate sex. Sean Michael did a wonderful job of bringing to life men who will enjoy the wonderment and passion of new love especially when neither Jeff nor Hunter were looking for it. Corpus Christi is a great read full of steamy sex and tingly feelings of new love. Pick it up you won’t regret it!

Running a successful business is hard work anywhere, especially so in Hollywood.  One of the best cosmeticians in town, Hunter Monroe is busy with his company and being a full time single parent.

Years of partying and drinking with his ex Rebecca were great, but then their son Chase came along.  Rebecca didn’t want to be tied down so Hunter assumed full custody which became a moot point after she died in an alcohol related car accident.

Chase’s nanny abruptly quits which leaves Hunter in the lurch.  His best friend Adam Becall recommends the college student he’s used in the past, Terry Rayburn who’s about to graduate with a degree in childcare.  Adding to the pressure in Hunter’s life is Rebecca’s parents who want to raise Chase.  One problem is addressed and helped along when Chase meets Terry and adores him.  Convincing the ex-in-laws is the next issue and of course keep his business running successfully.  One other little thing… throttle down the lust and imagining the nanny in his bed.

Trust and tenderness is sincerely brought forth in Nanny Dearest.  The beguiling characters and a real feel for a blossoming relationship makes for a very entertaining read.  A dollop of humor, a new father finding his way, and a young man ready to take on responsibility add up to Nanny Dearest in all the right ways possible.
