An intimate encounter after introductions at a party becomes a magical moment for rock star Link Jacks.  He didn’t recognize his partner as someone he already knew, the sister-in-law of his best friend and band mate.

She remembers him.  How could Madison not remember the rock god?  Madison has finally finished school and moved to the big city to find a job as a tattoo artist and be near her big sister Isabel, who’s finally pregnant.  Succumbing to Link and that one incredible experience was a mistake.  She wants to find a forever kind of relationship with a man and Link is a different girl or girls every night kind of guy.

When it comes to sex Madison and Link are perfection together.  It’s everything else that messes up any chance of a future together.  Link is willing to do whatever it takes to prove to Madison that he’s her man, even when someone from the past has revenge on their mind.  In the end Madison will have to trust in Link.  But, can she?

Take a stroll on the wild side of the rock world in Loving Link.  Pretense and artifice are part of the rock scene, but is it real or an act for band members?  That is Link’s dilemma if he wants Madison for his own.  The problems and concerns make Loving Link a pleasurable quagmire to deal with.  Engaging characters, a compelling plotline, and plausible issues make Loving Link an intimate and enjoyable read.

Elana Fabrizzio is a Washington DC college librarian who is working the late night shift.  The library is all but empty because of the big basketball game, so when Elana goes to gather the books that need to be put back she isn’t expecting to see many people.  That is exactly what she finds until she stumbles across a meeting and hears a murder for hire meeting.  Now all Elana can think of is to get out of there, alert the police and warn the subject of the murder plot – a woman she heard speak once.

Vanko Petriv is an agent of SSI (Security Specialists International) currently visiting with family in New York when he receives a call to go and find Elana and keep her safe.  She is the best chance they have at finding the government spy that has not only threatened SSI’s employees but has also tried to kill the owner’s wife.  Vanko is instantly on the job and learns that he might be too late when Elana finds that she has bad guys after her already.

Vanko saves Elana and gets her out of Washington DC but Mother Nature is against them and the weather is horrible.  Getting Elana back to SSI headquarters is out for now but Vanko believes he has a solution to keep her safe until the weather is better.  However, it seems that the news stories on Elana have alerted an enemy from Elana’s past.  Elana’s past is not what it seems and suddenly Vanko and Elana have to keep her safe from more than the government spy.  While all this is going on, an instant passion has sprung up between Elana and Vanko that both want the chance explore and they can only do so if they can defeat both threats to Elana.

A chance overheard meeting will bring a librarian and a security contractor together and lead to a lasting love.  Elana and Vanko discover that fighting for the chance to love is everything in Weather the Storm.  I have wanted Vanko to have his happy ever after since I met him in the very first book in the SSI series.  I truly thought that Elana was the perfect match for Vanko and loved just how much they had in common as her story slowly unrolled.  I enjoyed watching as they both used every trick they could to have the chance to have that future that was just beyond their reach.  I really loved that Elana fought just as hard in her own way as Vanko did to defeat every threat that they faced.  I have to say that I flipped the last page closed with a satisfied sigh.  Weather the Storm is a thriller with equal amounts of suspense and passion drawn together in the way that only Ms. Monette can to keep you involved and believing that the characters are someone you could meet at any time.

Miranda has retired from the special forces and is now trying to get full agent status in The Company.  It’s an agency that goes after people that governments can’t.  Miranda’s job has always meant keeping secrets and she has kept a big one her entire life.  Miranda is a wolf shifter and being a known shifter means anyone can take you out.  Not even the military knew just what Miranda really was.  It’s going to be even harder to keep that secret after she barely escapes an undercover job in Amsterdam and can’t tell her new boss just how she got away.

Gavin has been watching Miranda since she hired on.  She is everything he loves in a woman but she also works for him and that places her on the “no touch” list.  That all changes when Miranda is seriously hurt on a job.  Gavin is just about to offer Miranda a chance to take her final test in becoming a full operative but he and all his top agents have one thing in common and unless he can tell that Miranda also carries that secret – Gavin is holding off.

When passion explodes on a plane trip both Gavin and Miranda try to put each other back into the employer/employee status.  However, once that particular genie is out of the bottle can you really ignore it?  A new lead on the same ring that Miranda helped to destroy in Amsterdam leads to another off shoot and she steps up to be the lead in the operation.  Gavin knows that Miranda could do it, but unless she is in the inner circle Miranda will be working without the same advantage the rest of the inner team has.  Miranda is thrilled to have her chance at the final testthat will allow her to become part of the inner circle of agents at last, but has no idea if she pasted or just became enemy number one when it’s over – that is until Gavin opens up about what it was about.  Miranda just found out the ultimate secret about The Company just in time for her covert operation.  Now it’s time to take down the bad guys and figure out if the passion between her and Gavin is the lasting kind or not.  When the operation goes south, Miranda is going to find out not only Gavin’s other major secret but just what is really between them and it’s a biggie.

The line between employer/employee doesn’t stand a chance when fate has decided what your future will be and with whom.  Gavin and Miranda learn this the hard way in Miranda’s Mate.  The name of the game is secret with covert companies that take the hard cases, but in The Company’s case it seems that there are secrets and then there are SECRETS.  I watched as both Miranda and Gavin had to learn to reveal not only their most closely held personal secrets but to trust each other with their most important gift – their hearts.  I found Miranda to be the spunky female lead I love in action packed stories.  Gavin had me going back and forth for the longest time on if he was worth the angst Miranda was going through, but as the story unrolled I found out that he was more than worth it.  I really enjoyed how Gavin solved his rules problem on where Miranda fit in the Company.  Miranda’s Mate is packed with suspense and a passion filled attraction all while keeping the eye on taking out the bad guys.

Leah Wolfe would do anything for someone she loves even if it means putting herself in danger.  So when her godson is kidnapped by Phoenix, a former Marquis, her immediate reaction is to agree to trade herself for him.  However, her fiancé, Ian Nightwalker, a current Marquis, knows all about Phoenix and he tries to convince Leah to wait a bit and let him find another way to get the boy back.

As a federal agent for SINS, Leah feels more than able to pull a fast one on a madman, even if he is an ancient vampire, with the help of Ian and his team.  However, things go a bit south when Leah is taken and she awakes and faces the horrors that Phoenix has created while searching for a way to revenge his dead lover.  Leah has every faith in Ian and his people, but for her to get out of this situation in one piece and to take Phoenix and his creations down, it will take all of her skills along with Ian’s might.  Along the way, Leah and Ian are going to be given something worth fighting for besides defeating a madman who threatens civilization as we know it.

You should never make a SINS agent with powers cranky or her vampire fiancé because your life expectancy becomes non-existent.  Leah and Ian prove this exact thing in Phoenix.  No one, least of all me, should have been surprised when Leah instantly agreed to put herself into harm to save her godson.  I have always loved her protectiveness of those that she loves; it’s such an intricate part of her.  Nor was I surprised when Ian wanted to find another way to get the job done to try and keep Leah safe.  I loved getting more of a glimpse of the intense love between Leah and Ian and was very happy when a huge surprise was revealed at the end of the book.  I also enjoyed how twists that I originally thought were red herrings were revealed as part of Phoenix’s plot.  Phoenix is a fast paced suspense filled story, which proves that love can bring wonderful things and cause horrible things depending on how fate turns.
