Michigan Sevion has a high stress career as a diagnostician at Gelreen Memorial Hospital.  Working alongside his vampire family at the hospital and living near each other can have its downside, but the Sevion family sticks together.

Recently one of Michigan’s brothers found his mate.  The trouble Dakota went through enforced the diagnostician’s desire to steer clear of any entanglements with his own future mate.  To find one’s mate, their sufletul pereche is supposed to be every vampire’s goal.  Michigan doesn’t want the drama, there’s enough of that with his loving family on any given day.

Apparently Michigan’s wishes don’t count because he’s introduced to his mate, talented chef Lucas Jaxson and now the clock is ticking. The human and the vampire have two weeks to bond otherwise Michigan will suffer the thirst and die.  If their rushed relationship wasn’t difficult enough an enemy of the family makes everything so much worse.  Michigan’s bonding just went from troubled to almost impossible.  Meanwhile, the clock never stops counting down.

The second installment in The Sevion Brotherhood series ramps up the drama to full throttle.  In Michigan the vampire and his chef face major hurdles head on with dignity and tense honesty.  Michigan offers a fresh breath of air to a tried and true plotline using engaging characters and an enemy worth hating.  The rocky romance satisfies on every level and whet’s the appetite for the next brother’s story.

Multiple tours of duty and a serious injury left Caden Donovan weary of the military life, as well as tired of hiding his sexuality as a gay dominant.  At first he thought a career with the Trenton police force was the answer, but life as a rookie cop wasn’t right either.

His younger brother Danny is a submissive with a loving Master who encourages Caden to work at their club as the new Director of Security.  Indiscreet is known throughout the state as one of the finest BDSM clubs.  Already a member, the position would be a good fit for Caden.  The only thing missing is the right sub to complete him.

Going by the name Masato at Indiscreet, the submissive doesn’t want anyone to know that he’s actually Johnny Nguyen, code writing billionaire and principal stockholder of a major corporation.  Masato is looking for a Dominant who can handle him without his money getting in the way.

When they meet the chemistry is obvious.  But how will Caden react to having a sub with literally more money than God at his fingertips?  Will Caden’s pride get in the way of a D/s match made in heaven?

Secrets nearly destroy a budding love in the sixth story in the smoking hot Indiscreet series.  Focusing on the characters rather than their sex exploits, Caden’s Dilemma sizzles with emotion.  Miscommunication frustrates, then pride almost ruins everything.  High drama, a few sexual situations, and a dash of light humor from secondary characters balance well in Caden’s Dilemma.  Fans will love another visit to Indiscreet and new readers are bound to get hooked.  Everyone will want more.

Blowing up his home with his parents inside was something Lucas will never live down even though it was a complete accident.  If that wasn’t horrible enough, Lucas is then picked up by humans and taken straight to a Warlock Internment Camp even though he was only fifteen at the time.

Ten long, tortuous years in the ridiculously termed ‘rehabilitation camp’ and Lucas is slowly, painfully dying from neglect and starvation.  The only thing keeping him going is Charlie, a childhood friend captured two years ago who’s also dying there.  They manage to keep each other from completely losing hope, but soon it won’t matter.

Lucas and Charlie are in such desperate straits that when help comes they don’t even realize it at first.  Members of the resistance, free warlocks, break into the camp and liberate everyone.  Among the group is Andor, a fighter and a doctor who can’t believe the state of the prisoners.  It’s questionable if Lucas and the others will even heal.  If they do it’s a long road and after meeting Lucas there’s nothing Andor won’t do to help the young warlock, nothing at all.  Mending a broken body is one thing, a shattered soul something else entirely.

Author Stephani Hecht pens an exciting, emotional drama in Warlock Unbound, book two in the Detroit City Warlocks series.  The character’s sense of desolation and sorrow comes though so well.  His lack of belief in himself and uncertainty in Andor’s love is sometimes overwhelming.  A positive outcome in Warlock Unbound makes all the angst worth wading through in this story.  Lucas and Andor deserve all the happiness they can hold onto.

Maybe it is madness, maybe not when Troy Raines returns home to Chicago after the rebellion was crushed.  His name is no doubt at the top of the Tribunal’s most wanted list.  Never mind, Troy comes back to where it all started to find peace and a permanent end.  He’s tired of the guilt eating at him.  Most of all he’s tired of wishing for something that will never happen, forgiveness from Renart Bellerose, the vampire who Turned him.

Troy came back to end his life, what was left of it with his permanently damaged body.  He never expected in a million years for Renart to stop him.  Never expected his master to wish things had been different as well.  The spark that brought them together initially is still strong, but with the Tribunal on his tail Troy and Renart’s time together is numbered.  Tick tock.

Refined Instincts charms and enthralls readers.  Book 5 in the Instinct series features the rocky romance between a disillusioned rebellion leader and a wily French count.  Author S.J. Frost neatly brings Troy’s good qualities to the forefront to offer him redemption in the arms of his maker.  This story focuses primarily on their love story and then gains momentum for a stunning climax with the Tribunal.  Refined Instincts imaginative romance satisfies on every level.

Sean Sullivan is a principal and a happy person, but he has one major complication.HIV. Frustrated with constant rejection, Sean decides to stop dating negative men. When a student experiences a crisis and Sean meets Emery Benton, the case worker assigned from Child Protective Services, his decision is challenged. Sparks fly the moment they meet, but Emery is negative and Sean doesn't want the pain of another disappointment. As he struggles with his feelings for Emery, a war between the fear in his head and the fire in his heart force him to answer one simple question. Is this the perfect man for me?

Sean Sullivan loves his job as a principal at a middle school. He has a good life, overall. The only thing that keeps his life from being perfect is that he doesn’t have someone to love. Unfortunately, any time Sean tells a man he’s HIV positive, the guy bolts. Sean’s determined to start dating only other positive men so he can avoid further hurt. Then one of his favorite students begins experiencing severe family issues, and Emery Benton comes to help.

As a social worker, Emery’s job is to help protect kids from abuse and neglect. He comes to the school to help figure out how to best help a young man in crisis. He doesn’t expect the immediate attraction he feels toward Sean. Emery wants to date Sean, despite their working relationship, but Sean blows hot and cold. Will Emery stick around when he finds out Sean’s secret—or will Sean push him away before they can find out?

Perfect for Me features an issue that could cause a great deal of heartbreak and trauma in someone’s life: HIV. While the disease can be controlled with medication and lifestyle changes, it’s still a ticking time bomb. I understood Sean’s fear that his disease could prevent him from ever having love. He fights his attraction to Emery because he can’t bear to be disappointed again. Then, after he tells Emery his secret, he continues to fight their attraction. Emery isn’t the type of man to let HIV make him see Sean differently. He’s determined to have real love in his life, and he thinks Sean is the one.

I liked Perfect for Me’s realistic conflict and the fact that it centered around a school. I wasn’t so crazy about how wishy-washy Sean came across as. It’s understandable that he would be wary about trusting a negative guy not to freak out about his status, and that he would have reservations even when Emery did not. I just wished he would make up his mind. He kept pulling Emery closer and then pushing him away. For some reason Emery forgave him every time, pretty much instantly. I started to tire of the push-me, pull-you routine after a while, and I couldn’t believe Emery put up with it. While I enjoyed Perfect for Me on the whole, Sean’s behavior frustrated me enough to make the whole story a bit less than I’d hoped it would be.
