Dante Moretti has just landed his dream job: GM of the Chicago Rebels. And screw the haters who think there should be an asterisk next to his name because he’s the first out managing executive in pro hockey. He’s earned the right to be here and nothing will topple him off that perch—especially not an incredibly inconvenient attraction to his star defenseman, Cade “Alamo” Burnett. Cade has always been careful to keep his own desires on the down low, but his hot Italian boss proves to be a temptation he can’t resist. Sure, they both have so much to lose, but no one will ever know...

As Dante and Cade’s taboo affair heats up off the ice and their relationship gets more and more intense, they’ll have to decide: is love worth risking their careers? Or is this romance destined to be forever benched?

Undone by You is so damn hot!  Dante Moretti and Cade “Alamo” Burnett’s attraction is palpable.  They simply sizzle together.  I love so many things about Author Kate Meader’s Undone by You.  The sexual tension is through the roof.  The drama is intensely seductive as Dante tries to fight his attraction to Cade all the while Cade pursues him fiercely.  Dante and Cade will pull you in from page one and have you aching for more of their powerful romance.  Undone by You is a winner! If you like it forbidden and hot this book is for you! Dante and Cade’s romance is an excellent addition to the Chicago Rebel’s series.

I am happy to Joyfully Recommend Undone by You! It’s my first recommendation for 2018!

I’m so in love with Isobel Chase & Vadim Petrov I feel like I might bust! I’m simply cannot stop smiling.

The Chase sisters must get their hockey team the Chicago Rebels into the playoffs if they want to hold on to the team.  Per their father’s will, if they do not get into the playoffs the team will be sold.  A key to winning is their latest acquisition Vadim Petrov.  It is Isobel’s job to get him back into fighting shape after a recent injury. There is just a tiny problem…these two have a past.

Olympic Silver Medalist Isobel Chase was set to be the best female hockey player in the world until she was sidelined by a life-threatening injury.  Now, she must settle for coaching the game she so desperately wants to play.  However, getting grown men to listen to a female coach is easier said than done.  Vadim Petrov is the latest roadblock on her road to a full-time coaching job.

The last person Vadim Petrov wants to help him get back up to speed on the ice is Isobel Chase.  He’s still harboring anger about the last time she entered his life and dashed his dreams. Yet, he cannot deny there is still a spark between them.  He quickly realizes she might just melt the ice wall he’s built around his heart.

Isobel and Vadim must decide whether pursuing the chemistry between them is worth possibly losing everything they hold dear.

WOW! Author Kate Meader blew me away with passion and grace in So Over You the second book in her Chicago Rebels series.

Isobel and Vadim will draw you in the second they share the page. It’s impossible to miss the angsty unresolved feelings between them.  While each would rather forget their teenage romance, it keeps rearing its head.  As they try to convince each other that they are So Over their past; it continues to pull them together.  Isobel and Vadim are both very obstinate it is fun watching their walls crumble.  If you love romances filled with scorching scenes and emotional storytelling Ms. Meader’s So Over You if for You!

So Over You really takes second chance romance to the next level by pairing it with a high stakes subplot. Everyone in the story has something riding on the outcome of the team.  I love the fact that the secondary characters play such important roles in the series.  Speaking of which, I cannot wait to learn more about Dante and his possible relationship!

So Over You is bursting with unforgettable romance that will leave you with chill bumps…the good kind.  I enjoyed the first book in the series Irresistible You so much.  I didn’t think Ms. Meader could follow that up with another story so spectacularly, but she hit the mark with So Over You.

So Over You is one of those stay up all night books that will have you wanting to start it over again when you finish.  So Over You is a Joyfully Recommended Read for December and the perfect book to wrap up 2017 with!

Lilica Swan isn’t quite human or otherworlder; she is the best—and worst—of both.

She is willing to do whatever proves necessary to save her sister from the seductive and deadly Alien Investigation and Removal agent, Dallas Gutierrez, even bonding her lifeforce to his by effectively marrying him. But the bond will fade without consummation. Can Dallas resist his insatiable desire for the powerful beauty? Or will she lead to his ultimate downfall?

Author Gena Showalter’s Alien Huntress series is back in action! I have loved this series for a very long time and all of that time I have been waiting for AIR Agent Dallas Gutierrez to get his love story.  He’s that character that jumps off the pages of every book and he’s met his match in Lilica Swan.

Lilica and her sisters have been prisoners for most of their lives.  Now they are free and learning how to survive.  Lilica is desperate to find her sister and protect her from AIR.

Lilica and Dallas have an intense attraction in Dark Swan. It’s easy to sympathize with Lilica’s plight.  She’s in an untenable situation and trying to do the right thing by her sisters.  I really enjoyed the story. My only complaint is that the story was too short.  I felt like the complexity of Dallas and Lilica’s deserved more.  It could have been more powerful if their story had been expanded.  Fortunately, as usual Ms. Showalter still gives her readers a sexy and exciting story.

Instead of jumping off the magnificent Angel Falls in Venezuela, wealthy adrenaline junkies Zakary and Gideon Stark end up running for their lives in the jungle, but they’re not alone.

Acadia Gray is living on the wild side for the first time in her life. Her one-night stand with Zak rocks her world, but then it almost kills her when she, Zak, and Gideon are kidnapped. Acadia got more than she bargained for that night, and now her heart and her life are on the line.

Hush is high-energy from start to finish. Excitement and danger fill every page. Acadia is tough and feisty but also shy and sweet. She doesn’t show many people who she really is. Zak has been burned, and that failed relationship left a scar that runs deep. Acadia is the perfect match for Zak, it just takes him a while to see it for himself. If it’s possible to make their story more exciting, Zak’s newly acquired sixth sense does it. Twists and turns and steamy sensual undertones make Hush a hard book put down.

Geologist and Aequitas warrior Jackson Slater has used magic all his life.  Sara Temple rejected and began to fear her magical powers the night of her parents’ deaths.  Once deeply in love, now bitter exes, Jack and Sara want nothing more than to never see one another again.  But when an ancient evil threatens not just wizards, but the entire world, the Wizard Council throws Jack and Sara back into each others’ lives by commanding they work together to stop it.  Past wounds threaten to derail their investigation, but Sara and Jack learn that their love has never really died.  Can they heal the wounds of their past to have a future together?  Or will the evil they face destroy Jack, Sara, and everything they love before they have a chance to find out?

The classic tale of good versus evil gets an inventive new spin in the dark and dangerous Black Magic.  Having never read any of Cherry Adair’s books, I was excited to adventure into the world of Aequitas and Omnivatics and Ms. Adair doesn’t hold back from making her bad guys very bad indeed.  As for our protagonists, I adored Jack.  He’s sexy as hell and just a touch grouchy, which actually managed to add to his appeal (bravo, Ms. Adair).  I quite liked Sara as well, though at times I admit I wanted to shake her for not being willing to listen to Jack when it came to people who were obviously untrustworthy.  Though Ms. Adair tried to explain why said people had Sara’s trust, it was a matter of tell more than show, so that part of the story made me a bit unsympathetic towards Sara.  Still, when the good kind of sparks flew between Sara and Jack, I loved watching them together.  They suffered some awful hits in the past and I wanted to see them get their happily ever after together because Ms. Adair made me believe they definitely deserved it.  Black Magic is by turns sensual, thrilling, and (when it comes to the bad guys) just a bit creepy, which made the book all the more interesting.  Black Magic was an altogether engaging read and I look forward to reading more of Ms. Adair’s work.
