Lindsey Tate is a human who is doing her best to right an old wrong that her grandfather did many years ago.  In preparation for the celebration quest she must take, Lindsey has moved to her grandfather’s cabin and has gotten a waitressing job to pay the bills.  It’s almost time for the celebration when Lindsey meets a man who totally gets her attention.  Of course it happens now, when Lindsey really doesn’t expect to survive the Goddess’ ruling that will hopefully even-out the score.  Lindsey is trying to avoid the local werewolf clan until the time is right for her offering to the Goddess to correct the past wrong done to them.

Griffon Redstone is the alpha of his Clan and the oldest of his five brothers and his baby sister.  While Grif and his family are cats, his pack has accepted shifters and even some mated humans.  Grif’s entire family is still reeling from the murder of their mother, but especially his baby sister who found her.  Now that it’s time to begin the healing, Grif has taken his sister and traveled to a place in the mountains that has always given him peace.  He is really hoping that spending some time in the mountains away from the rest of the family and clan will be enough to help him and his sister recover.  Things seem to be slowly moving forward when Grif meets a waitress who has his cat wanting immediate attention.

Grif finds out pretty fast that Lindsey is not wanted or liked by the wolf clan who lives on this mountain, but he can’t figure out why at first.  However, when they come to make their opinions known, Grif takes a stand to protect her—not the best way to keep your head down when you are just visiting another clan’s homelands.  Little by little, Grif and his inner cat learn about Lindsey and stumble in on her celebration.  They are both surprised by the Goddess’s response to Lindsey’s plea to make up for the harm her grandfather did to the wolf clan.  However, Grif’s inner cat is beyond happy, because now Lindsey can be his true mate—that is, if they can get her past the first rough aspects that most shifters go through as they come into their powers.  If that isn’t enough, it appears the same ancient enemy that has been attacking those who follow the Goddess’ light has found them, and intends for all the shifters on that mountain to remain there permanently—just not alive.

Love can strike at any time, especially when the timing just doesn’t work for either party…like the Goddess is going to pay any attention to the pesky matters of day-to-day living in her grand scheme of things.  Grif and Lindsey learn firsthand just how hard it is go circumvent the Goddess’s plans in Grif.  After reading the book where Grif’s mother is murdered, I knew that the Redstone brothers’ books would be edgy and have an overshadowing of sorrow in them.  I was right there with fingers crossed as Grif and Lindsey first met, cautiously got to know one another, and then fell paws over tails in love.  I’m honestly not sure who was hardest hit.  Was it Lindsey when she found herself with a new dual personality and unable to control the raging lust she had toward Grif from the very beginning?  Or was it Grif, because he had to try and help Lindsey and his sister while not only keeping them protected, he also struggled with his inner cat who wanted to claim Lindsey as their mate?  Having a mate who didn’t grow up as a shifter and was suddenly thrown in can be nerve racking to a male.  I gave large cheers as Grif and Lindsey were not only able to overcome the hurdles that could have torn them apart, but they also defeated yet another of the arms that were trying to destroy those who live and love in the Goddess’s light.  Grif is fast paced and filled with the best kind of suspense and passion until the very end.  I’m looking forward to watching each of the Redstone brothers meet their mates.

Darla’s life just keeps getting better and better.  First, she was successfully able to move from her small Ohio hometown to the big Boston to a career that she loves.  Secondly, she has a special romantic relationship with two handsome men from the band Random Acts of Crazy, Joe and Trevor.  Lastly, she and the band received invitations to Eden.  All they had to do was to spend a week preforming on the mysterious, exotic island and they each would receive a monetary bonus.

Was this deal too good to be true?

While, I am sure Random Acts of Fantasy was meant to be a fun loving, ménage a trios tale; I found it to be the totally opposite.  Until Darla, Joe and Trevor arrived on Eden, the pace and the excitement of the storyline left a lot to be desired.  There were times where the attempts at the comical moments did not hit the spot.  However, it is not until the threesome lands on Eden did things become at tad bit more interesting.  With that said, the sexual encounters were mega hot and passionate.  In addition to the sizzling romance, the plot contains chaotic drama in the form of a crazed ex-girlfriend, a kidnapping, and the uncertainty of love.  Whereas, Random Acts of Fantasy was not one of my all time favorites, I am sure fans of this series will enjoy getting to see Darla, Joe, and Trevor finally get their chance at love.

The London underground is divided between the Montgomery family and the Markovic family who decided a truce was better business than all out war.  With the recent passing of Dimitri Markovic his son Gregori has taken over the family ventures.  Though ruthless in his own way the new Markovic leader is nothing like his sire and plans to move into legitimate business.

Five years ago Katya Markovic acquiesced to her father’s pressure to marry Sergei Orlov, the son of a NYC criminal family.  She came home briefly for her father’s funeral but since that day Gregori has had difficulty contacting her and he’s worried.

Years honed from a life in the UK Special Forces unit Dair Grayson runs an elite security firm, including protection for the Montgomery family.  In a show of respect and to circumvent questions from the Orlov family Gregori Markovic asks Dair to locate his sister and make sure she’s alright.

Infiltrating Harmony View Clinic is simple.  Rescuing her proves easier than getting Kat to open up and tell Dair what’s going on.  At one time Kat had a massive crush on Dair.  Can she trust this stranger now with her secrets?  Telling him the truth could get them both killed.

Midnight Alpha seductively draws the reader into a wild ride of twists and turns.  The well written drama flows beautifully as suspense builds page by page.  Kat’s story of a poor little rich girl is justified.  Dair is all man no matter the situation.  Their romance has boulder size problems, yet neither is willing to give up.  An intelligent, sensuous story Midnight Alpha keeps the reader completely engaged.  Smooth, adult, and so fun.

The night Lucien Montgomery and his cousin Dair were ambushed by one of his father’s rivals was a wake-up call for them both.  As soon as their injuries healed Lucien quietly vanished.  Once Dair was well enough he joined the military.

Reinventing himself in New York, Lucien Wynter was born and used his intellect on the stock market.  Returning home some four years ago the reclusive billionaire is rarely seen in public and doesn’t allow anyone to photograph him.  His personal security is handled by an ex-military man Dair Grayson.

The first time he sees Nicky McKenzie he is interested.  The next time Lucien is in her presence he’s become intrigued.  From then on Lucien is hooked by Nicky’s brash honesty and quick wit.  Lucien doesn’t do relationships, but for Nicky he might make an exception.  If only Nicky wasn’t hiding something too.

A battle of wills is fought between an arrogant man and a strong willed woman as they clash and struggle to find middle ground in Dark Alpha.  The main characters have an awkward, contentious relationship sparked by chemistry that keeps them coming back for more.  Despite their difficulties, particularly Lucien’s crass behavior their eventual romance in Dark Alpha evolves into a sexy, committed love to savor.

Celeste Lewis is a reporter, blogger, and undercover submissive.  Focusing on things that happened in her past, she is unsure and very scared of letting her proclivities for the kink be known.  She is so sure that her success rides on keeping this secret that she refuses to even imagine a relationship with the elements she needs to be whole.  Leland Keller, however, is not about to take no for an answer.

Sgt. Keller, as he is known while on patrol, is no inexperienced Dom.  He sees Celeste and recognizes the war she is raging with herself.  Determined to find the soft woman underneath who just wants to be loved, he sets about rocking Celeste’s world.  OH. YEAH!

Leland Keller is to die for, simply and unapologetically.  His ability to get under Celeste’s defense mechanisms to the woman he loves underneath is uncanny and so very sexy.  Celeste was a great heroine – I could sense her loneliness, apprehension, and most importantly, her longing for the right man to come along and love her.  Together she and Leland are explosive!

If anyone has ever read any of my reviews of Joey W. Hill’s books, then it is widely known that I adore this author.  Absolutely worship her writing and her books and have for years.  But this is not without merit – it is books like Soul Rest that have me clamoring for Ms. Hill to write as fast as she can.  If you are a fan of Joey W. Hill, don’t miss this seventh installment of the Knights of the Boardroom series.  If you are new to Joey W. Hill’s Knights, I suggest reading book 1, Board Resolution.
