All is not what it seems...Beautiful actress Vivaca Carlton had everything she'd ever thought she wanted. Her talent had acquired her enough fame and fortune to leave the roots of her broken childhood behind and make her a star. But she's coming to learn that fame and fortune mean nothing without love.Hired to protect the actress, Quinn Thomas is prepared to be professional and get the job done despite his past distrust of women in the industry. But when he sets his eyes on Vivaca, he knows that guarding her body will be anything but professional. From sizzling to burning hot, they will both break the bonds of their pasts to claim a love that is worth protecting.

Actress Vivaca Carlton thinks the threats made against her life are meaningless and due to an overzealous fan. Yet, her agent sees things differently and hires a personal body guard.  Unhappy at first with a bodyguard shadowing her every step, Vivaca is glad have Quinn Thomas around as her protective safeguard when the threats towards her take a turn down a deadly path.

Security expert, Quinn Thomas is determined to successfully complete the assignment he is hired to do regardless of the fact that it lands him smack in the middle of a situation that he has avoided for a number of years – celebrity limelight.  One look at his new client, Vivaca Carlton, Quinn knows that is going to difficult to maintain a strictly professional relationship between them.

With an obsessive, crazed fan stalking Vivaca, will Quinn be able to keep her out of harm’s way?  And, more importantly, will Quinn be able to get past his bias hiccup of women in the film industry to have a meaningful, lasting relationship with Vivaca?

Fans of Tami Vinson’s Protective Heat series will not be disappointed by Protective Heat.  This storyline is just as exciting as the first installment, Winter’s Heat.  The heat between Vivaca and Quinn instantly sizzles to a scorching height and does not burn out one bit.  Add in the very dangerous and deadly stalking element and you have an exciting, thrilling tale that will successfully hold your attention until the very end.  Protective Heat is book two in Ms. Vinson’s Protective Heat series and can be read as a standalone novella.

Winter Jones is determined to keep her excellent paying job in order to continue sending funds to her sister to support their aunt’s medial needs.  However, life has thrown her two major curve balls that could hinder her plan.  Without discussing with her, Winter’s roommate has decided to move in with her crazy boyfriend from hell.  And to complicate matters on an even more on a personal level, Winter has been covertly lusting after her wealthy, drop-dead gorgeous boss, the one man she knows she cannot have.

For the past year, Eric Jameson has secretly been obsessing over his housekeeper.  With each passing day, his desire for Winter Jones has slowly stewed until the point where Eric is just moments away from breaking his number one rule of never mixing business with pleasure by claiming Winter as his woman.

I found Tami Vinson’s Winter’s Heat to be a pleasant read.  Where Eric is a tough, hard-core very alpha male who demands respect without question; Winter is an innocent, kind-hearted, yet determined heroine who finds the inner strength that she never knew she had when confronted with an unbelievable harmful act.  The couple is a perfect match for each other.  It amazes me how long it took for Eric and Winter to finally submit to their desires for one another; yet, when they finally did, it was no turning back to the way things used to be.  The sexual tension between them is intensely hot and very passionate.  All in all, Winter’s Heat is a good read.

Stella Lewis is determined not to end up like her mother; a reckless woman who moved from man to man without care for the impression that it left on her young daughter.  As a result, Stella rarely dates and solely focuses on growing her antique business.   So, when her best friend invites her for a weekend getaway at her beach house, Stella is over the moon at the opportunity to discover the hidden treasures in the attic.  What Stella did not expect is to be sidetracked by an alluring temptation of the handsomely, annoying playboy, Ian Hollis.

For three years, Ian Hollis has been trying to catch the attention of Stella Lewis but she refuses to give him the time of day.  Nonetheless, at every opportunity, Ian shameless flirts with Stella hoping she would finally give him the chance to prove that he is more than a rich playboy.  Because beneath her aloof exterior, Ian knows lays a fabulous, sensual woman waiting to break free and to be cherish by him.  So, when he discovers that they will be spending a weekend together at a mutual friend’s beach house, Ian is determined to win Stella’s heart.

I am really enjoying Lyric James’ Beach House Nights series.  With each new release, the storylines just keep getting better and better.  Her third standalone installment, Up All Night is an incredible, heartfelt read because of Stella’s emotional baggage.  While I scream at Stella to give Ian a chance, I completely understand her internal fear against taking a step that she perceives as reckless behavior that her mother committed time and time again in the past.  I admire Ian’s strength of character and his wholehearted compassion towards Stella.  It’s no wonder why she has a difficult time fighting the intense attraction between them.  Their sexual encounters were plentiful and lustfully romantic; definitely, body temperature raising moments.  All in all, Up All Night is a spectacular read!

Erica Evard has always been different but now she knows what she is supposed to do.  She plans to hunt down every evil person and make them pay.  She feels the evil growing and understands that her lifespan might be cut short by her need to seek justice. When she meets Magnus McLeod, she can feel the darkness within him but there is also something about him that draws her near.

Magnus has run from his family out of fear. The darkness hiding inside him could come out and hurt those he loves.  When he meets Erica he is drawn to her immediately.  He wants her passionately and is determined to get her then protect her, but she doesn’t need him as much as he thinks.  As the danger starts hunting them they must rely on each to survive the darkness.

The End of Darkness is an exciting end to a wonderful series. I love Jaime Rush’s Offspring series it’s full of great characters, sexual chemistry and intense suspense.  Erica and Magnus both have dark issues they are dealing with so it is only fitting that these two bring down a big baddie.  I love Magnus, always have, and Erica is the perfect woman for him. She is tough and sensitive. Erica can stand with her man and up to him as well.  It was also great to watch Copeland find love too. His character has always been interesting and I wanted him to find some loving as well.  The interaction between him and Lanna is lustful and funny. They share some really great scenes.  I hope to see all of these characters resurface someday.  The End of Darkness is fast-paced, emotional and hot!

Violet Tanner is having the worst week of her life.  First, she was demoted on her job due to budget cuts; then, her pathetic excuse of an ex-boyfriend ended their relationship via email and finally, her upstairs neighbor forgot to turn off his water resulting in flooding her apartment. So when her one of her best friends invites her for a fun-filled weekend party at her beach house, Violet jumps at the chance to escape everything. When overhearing Violet’s upsetting declaration Logan McMasters knows this is the perfect moment to make his move.  After countless nights of pining over her, Logan is about to make his all of dreams come true featuring he and Violet in the most intimate way possible.  Now, all Logan needs to do is to persuade Violet that they belong together. Something Wet is a spicy, passionate, short and sweet novella that will leave you breathless with great desire.  The chemistry between Violet and Logan is flaming hot and neither can avoid the intense, scorching hot erotic tension that sparks amongst them.  I am fanning my blushing face just reminiscing about their heated sexual encounters.  Whew!  In addition to the blazing sexual interactions, whereas, Violet and Logan are longtime acquaintances, I really like how they uncover more meaningful, innermost information about each other over the course of the weekend.  Overall, I found Something Wet to be a great read. Something Wet is book two in Lyric James’ Beach House Night series and can be enjoyed as a standalone novel.
