New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter’s pulse-pounding paranormal series continues with an electrifying story about the ultimate warrior and his prize: a beautiful woman he will do anything to possess. HE IS EVERY WOMAN’S FANTASY . . . Corbin Blue is a man of many talents. One of the most powerful otherworlders ever born, he is wealthy, a professional football star, and a legend in the bedroom. But only a select few know he is also a black ops agent . . . and there is no better killer. When he and his crew are attacked and separated, he’s forced to turn to his boss’s daughter for help—a woman with even more secrets than Blue. SHE BECOMES HIS ONLY OBSESSION . . . Evangeline Black has always been wary, guarded. No man has ever breached her walls. Until Blue. He has never been denied something he wants, and now he’s decided he wants her. As he sweeps her into his double life of seduction, intrigue, and danger, he helps her see beyond the darkness of her past. But as an enemy closes in, Blue will have to let Evie go to keep her safe—even though he’d rather die than live without her. . . .

JoyfullyRecommendedCorbin Blue is a talented man. He is a star football player, a playboy and wealthy.  Unfortunately, it appears someone wants him and his team dead.  After a bomb nearly kills him, Corbin must seek out help from the last person he ever expected to need.  His boss’ daughter is sexy as sin with an attitude that rivals his but only she has the skills to save his life.

The last thing Evangeline Black expected to find in her bed is an almost dead Corbin Blue.  Corbin has always been her least favorite person—well, that is what she tells herself to fight the attraction.  He is one of her father’s men; she is determined not to cross that line but as she finally gets a glimpse of the real Corbin Blue, Evangeline finds it hard to say no to him.

If Evangeline and Corbin want to find out who is behind the bombing they will have to learn to work together.  Corbin finds himself admiring Evangeline’s skills but she provokes his most protective instincts.  He soon realizes that if he wants to keep her safe he will have to leave her.  Good luck! Evangeline is not a push over.  Will Corbin and Evangeline make it out of danger alive?

Gena Showalter’s Black and Blue is a fantastic addition to the Otherworld series.  I cannot get enough of Showalter’s brilliant writing.  Ms. Showalter writes with incredible depth making her world and characters come to 4D life on the pages.  I would absolutely love for James Cameron to bring the Otherworld series to life on the silver screen!

I’m so excited about Corbin’s story! His character is a striking one.  I couldn’t wait to learn more about what makes this sexy playboy tick.  Some of his scenes are so striking.  I could feel the immense pain he was feeling after the bombing that almost killed him.  And let’s not forget how great the scenes are where he attempts to be protective of Evangeline.  This playboy becomes serious really quick!  Evangeline has always seen Corbin as his reputation dictates.  But she learns quickly that he is serious when it comes to her.  However, she has been taking care of herself for years.  I love that Evangeline is smart and capable of kicking some butt.  These two make a great team in and out of the bedroom! Their chemistry is powerful and off the charts.  I could read stories about them forever they are so dang interesting!

Black and Blue sizzles in all the right places.  I’m Joyfully Recommending it!  This is one of those novels that combines fantasy and romance giving the readers a phenomenal read! Black and Blue hits the spot!

New York Times bestselling author Sabrina Jeffries delights readers with the fourth Regency romance in her sexy Hellions of Halstead Hall series, featuring the dark and dangerous Lord Gabriel Sharpe. To fulfill his grandmother’s ultimatum, Lord Gabriel Sharpe pursues a spitfire he believes desperately needs him. Then the tables are turned…Like everything daredevil Gabe Sharpe does, wooing Virginia Waverly is a high-stakes game. Ever since her brother, Roger, died racing Lord Gabriel, Virginia has yearned to take her revenge on the reckless lord by beating him at his own sport. But when she challenges Lord Gabriel to a race, the hellion called the “Angel of Death” counters with a marriage proposal! Gabe knows Virginia is in dire financial straits—so why not marry her and solve both of their problems? She claims to be appalled by his proposal, but her response to his kisses says otherwise. And when the two of them begin to unravel the truth behind Roger’s death, Gabe takes the greatest gamble of all, offering the courageous beauty something more precious than any inheritance: true love.

After his friend, Roger Waverly, dies in a race, Lord Gabriel Sharpe becomes known as the Angel of Death.  Weighed down with guilt, Gabe doesn’t try to fight the nickname and instead accepts any race challenge that comes his way.  He just never expects Roger’s sister to challenge him.

Gabe doesn’t want to race Virginia Waverly – he wants to marry her.  His grandmother has stated that if he and his siblings don’t all marry within a year, they’ll be disinherited.  Gabe figures he can kill two birds with one stone: satisfy his grandmother and provide for Virginia and her family.  But Virginia ‘s grandfather blames Gabe for Roger’s death and Virginia herself won’t marry any man who doesn’t truly see her.  Can Gabe overcome her grandfather’s fierce objections and Virginia ‘s own stubbornness to prove that she’s the only woman who can tame his wild heart?

To Wed a Wild Lord may just be my favorite Hellions of Halstead Hall book yet!  To Wed a Wild Lord sparks with passion, energy, and life and I couldn’t put it down.  Like all the Sharpe siblings, when Gabe wants something, he goes after it.  And what Gabe wants is Virginia. Though his determination originally springs from his attraction to Virginia and a need to assuage his guilt over her brother’s death, the real joy is watching his feelings for her grow. Gabe sees Virginia for who she really is.  She’s both practical and a romantic, and Gabe treasures all of her.  I too adored Virginia ; she’s both intelligent and loyal.  The dynamic between her and Gabriel was delightful to read and I avidly turned the pages of To Wed a Wild Lord, dying to see how Virginia and Gabe’s romance would turn out.

To Wed a Wild Lord is the fourth book in the Hellions of Halstead Hall series, but readers who have not yet read The Truth About Lord StonevilleA Hellion in Her Bed, and How to Woo a Reluctant Lady will have no problem reading To Wed a Wild Lord as a standalone.  There is an overarching mystery in the series concerning the deaths of the Sharpe siblings’ parents, and each book in the series has only made that plotline more interesting.  I can’t wait to see how that storyline turns out, but most of all I’m on the edge of my seat to see what happens when Celia, the youngest Sharpe sibling, finally meets her match in A Lady Never Surrenders.

Lovers from opposite worlds reunite in Karin Harlow’s explosive, erotic new L.O.S.T. adventure. . . . While tracking a hijacked cask of enriched uranium in Kyrgyzstan, L.O.S.T. operative Nikko Cruz is ambushed and left for dead. Which means he must be hallucinating when the only woman he ever loved—the woman he was sentenced to death for killing—comes to his rescue. Half-daemon Selena Guererro has secrets she’d kill for. The most important one, she’s already died to protect. Now she’ll do anything to keep her daughter safe. But she can’t just leave her lost love to perish. She injects Nikko with immortal blood serum, putting herself in grave danger. When Nikko comes to, he is superhuman and super pissed. The mother of his daughter—the one he thought killed their child—is alive. He wants answers. He wants blood. And despite his best intentions, he wants Selena. He traces her to a mysterious terrorist cell where the cask has surfaced. First, he must retrieve the deadly material. Then he’ll take revenge on his beautiful ex. But when nothing goes as planned, Nikko and Selena find themselves burning with desire . . . and blowing the roof off their separate worlds, human and daemon alike.

Nikko Cruz used to be Johnny Cicone. Now he’s an operative for L.O.S.T. (Last Option Special Team). A team of elite operatives that go into situations no one else would dare. His latest mission takes him to Kyrgyzstan in search for nuclear weapons. Nikko is double-crossed and ambushed. The enemy left him for dead and high-tailed it with the weapons. Nikko thinks his end is near until he sees the last person he’d ever expect; the love of his life and the woman he murdered.

Selena Guererro is half-daemon with one mission in life: destroy her father, the prince of hell. When her father threatened her happiness she had to make the man she loved think she aborted their daughter. Selena never expected Johnny to attempt to kill her but it served her purpose; keeping him and their daughter safe. She is closer than she’s ever been to having the ammunition to kill her father when she finds Johnny half dead on the side of a mountain. Selena does the only thing she can, save him and totally screw up her plans in the process.

Nikko survives but he’s changed. He’s pissed and determined to find Selena and figure out what the hell is going on. He still needs to recover those nukes and he’s content using Selena to do it. Nikko and Selena’s reunion is made of fire and ice. Find out who survives in Enemy Mine.

Enemy Mine is a torrid, explosive mile-a-minute story. Karin Harlow fills Enemy Mine with high stakes passion and suspense. There is so much emotion between Nikko and Selena it’s ridiculous. There is so much more at stake than their lives and you can feel it on every page. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Nikko and Selena as well as the ones between Selena and Joran and Nikko and the members of his team. Enemy Mine is a fascinating and intriguing story. The L.O.S.T. series continues to be cool, complex and full of spice.

An eleventh-century lass with a stubborn streak unleashes the red-hot hero inside her modern lover in bestselling author Janet Chapman’s irresistible new Midnight Bay adventure. Trace Huntsman’s peaceful life has headed to hell in a hand-basket ever since stunningly beautiful Fiona Gregor moved into the vacant apartment above his house. Kidnapped centuries earlier and transformed into a red-tail hawk, Fiona is human once more and must learn how to be a modern woman. But damned if Trace is going to be the one to teach her. Not when her mere presence ignites a fiery passion deep within his cautious heart. Fiona longs to overcome the painful memories of her tragic past—to let down her guard and become a mother again. But so far her handsome landlord is not exactly thrilled with the stray animals—and suitors—that keep following her home. When the wizard Maximilian Oceanus shows up, Trace reaches the end of his rope. Weird things happen when Mac is around—raging storms, snarling demons—but this time, Midnight Bay is at the center of a fierce battle, and Fiona is the primary target. Only Trace can save her, but first, the lovers must set aside their fears . . . and open up their hearts.

Fiona Gregor has spent several hundred years as a red-tailed hawk. Since her transformation back into a her human body Fiona has been scared to death. She has been hiding behind her brothers and their families. It is very natural for her to be scared; in her first life as a human she was horribly brutalized. Now Fiona is very frightened of men. In a bid to get Fiona to open up to her new world her brother’s drop her into the lap of the safe and sexy Trace Huntsman.

Trace would never have rented his apartment if he knew the tenant was going to be Fiona. All Trace wants is to live a peaceful life fishing by day and relaxing by night. The last thing he needs is for his only temptation to move in. Fiona is stunningly beautiful, she stirs his blood like no other but she needs to be treated with kid gloves and he’s not capable of that. Trace has no interest in settling down and starting a family.

Thrust together Fiona and Trace learn how to maneuver their new lives. As the sexual tension builds Fiona and Trace must reevaluate their life goals. Is starting something between them worth the risk? Danger stalks the shores of Midnight Bay will Fiona and Trace get caught in a war they cannot survive?

Mystical Warrior spotlights a beautiful romance filled with strong emotion, passion and plenty of humor. I could not wait to read Fiona’s story and I was definitely not disappointed. Fiona is such a wounded character but strong at the same time. In certain ways Fiona and Trace are the same. They are both trying to get over their pasts which make them the perfect balm for each other’s soul. I loved revisiting all the characters from the previous Midnight Bay novels. It was great to find out more about the mysterious Mac. I just adore Misneach, Fiona’s dog. The name means courage in Gaelic and I think he is a perfect addiction to the series. Mystical Warrior is simply a really good story! It has funny bits, romantic bits and even suspenseful bits everything you could possibly want in an exciting story. I absolutely will be taking the next train to Midnight Bay that comes along because I know I’m going to be entertained!

WANTED Single human female to join charming, wealthy, single male were-cougar for a night of romantic fun—and maybe more. Me: The tall, sensuous, open-minded leader of my clan. You: A deliciously curvy virgin who’s intimately familiar with what goes bump in the night. Must not be afraid of a little tail. Prefer a woman who’s open to exploring her animal nature. Interest in nighttime walks through the woods a plus. My turn-ons include protecting you from the worst the supernatural world has to offer. Ready for an adventure? Give me a call. Vampires and doppelgangers need not apply.
Bathsheba Ward is a human working at a dating service for the supernatural.  Not really what you would call a dream job.  But Bath needed a job in a hurry and took it in order to keep her younger sister safe and them with food and a roof over their heads.  Besides, the one main rule her boss has it that you can’t date the clients.  Great news to Bath’s ears until the day a new and influential client corners her into a date.

Beau Russell is the leader of his clan and a man with an immediate need.  He is a were-cougar in need of a date immediately and when his dating service match cancels at the last minute, Beau goes for the woman on the phone.  A decision that turns out to be one of his best – at least he thinks so.  Getting his clan and Bath to agree will take a bit more persuasion and he is just the man to do it.

Bath agrees to one date with Beau thinking no one will be the wiser, after all humans need approval to date paranormals. It will also keep their boss happy and let Bath and her sister keep their jobs.  A good idea in theory, but it begins going south from the very beginning. Attraction is immediate between Beau and Bath and the evening really turns interesting – not in a good way.  Bath has to figure out how to hide her attraction to Beau so he will leave and how to keep her sister’s secret safe from his clan.  On top of that, when the boss finds out about the date, you just knew she would – right, Bath finds herself on the speed-dating track for paranormals.  What a mess because Beau isn’t giving Bath up easily and someone has trashed Bath’s house making Bath and her sister dependent on Beau’s clan.

Were-cougar clan leader seeks and finds a human dating service office manager who learns first hand the ups and downs of dating in Beauty Dates The Beast.  The humorous situations that Beau and Bath find themselves in had me laughing from beginning to end.  Not that the entire book was funny, there was also some hot passion and suspense included in there.  I knew right off that Bath and Beau had to be the perfect couple because only that type of couple could have as many situations happen to them and still be able to speak to each other.  From Beau forcing the first date, to his form of romance, to Bath kicking some serious were-creature booty, there just was not a point in their story that I was not enjoying.  Talk about true love that was meant to be.  Beauty Dates The Beast gives an insight on just how the paranormals date with all the normal and not so normal ups and downs that happen as a relationship begins – as only the paranormal can do it.

After reading the teasing chapter at the end, I can’t wait until the next book in this series comes out.  This couple will be even wilder I believe.
