Julie Ann Walker finally gives fans the book they have been waiting impatiently for featuring beloved hero Ethan “Ozzie” Sykes.  Wild Ride is well, a Wild Ride from start to finish.  Ozzie has always been the sarcastic, funny guy with a heart of gold.  He has appealed to me and many others since the beginning of the Black Knight’s Inc. series.  Wild Ride is book nine so it’s been a bit of a wait and well worth it. Reporter Samantha Tate is the perfect woman to wrangle Ozzie and steal his heart.  I love books where the hero and heroine have chemistry in the bedroom and these two do but what I like more is their humorous yet serious banter.

Ozzie and Samantha are both dedicated to their jobs and unfortunately that puts them at odds since Ozzie is supposed to keep Samantha from discovering the real work Black Knight’s Inc. does.  Thankfully, life sometimes forces people to confront their feelings and evaluate what is important in life.

Samantha is hysterically funny at the beginning when she…I don’t want to give anything away so I will just say she is electrifyingly determined to save her own butt. Ms. Walker knows how to throw her characters into a serious situation and make it funny without losing the intensity in Wild Ride.

The suspense plot in Wild Ride is great but the exploration of Ozzie and Samantha’s interpersonal relationship steals the show. Wild Ride has the right stuff! Wild Ride is a hold on to the seat of your pants and your heart read!  Walker can always be counted on to keep you entertained throughout her books and keep you coming back for more.  Nine books down in the Black Knight’s Inc. series and I for one am looking forward to more.

I haven’t read much of Dawn Ryder’s work but I just recently started her Unbroken Heroes series and loved it so I wanted to try her Rock Band series. Rock Steady is the second book in the series and I haven’t read the previous one, but I didn’t fall in love with Rock Steady like I hoped I would.

If you’ve read the previous book, Rock Me Two Times, you are familiar with the characters, but it if you are like me and starting in the middle you are just getting to know everyone for the first time. I have to say I had a hard time warming up to them and actually understanding them. In this story we meet Ramsey who comes off as god’s gift to women. He gets drunk and sleeps with a groupie only to discover she got back at him by taking him to get a tattoo of cherry blossoms. To me this sounded a little far-fetched, I mean could it could happen? Sure, anything is possible but getting a tattoo would sure as hell sober me up pretty fast.

After the whole getting the tattoo thing he meets up with the rest of his band, Toxsin and they agree he needs to get it fixed as soon as possible (duh) and they look for a tattoo shop that is open twenty four hours and there Ramsey meets Jewel, who will be his tattoo artist.

Jewel went to college and graduated with a marketing degree but she loves art so she is working in a tattoo shop. She is damn good at what she does, but her boss has a say so in what jobs she takes. When the band walks in the shop looking for someone to cover up the cherry blossoms on Ramsey, Jewel takes the job and covers it up with a bad ass tattoo. The next day her boss lets her go because he is jealous that she did the tattoo and didn’t call him which totally pissed me off but she gets a better opportunity. Ramsey offers her to go on tour with him and the band to expand the tattoo over the next four weeks and Jewel agrees. Sparks start flying between them, but Jewel is hesitant to get involved with Ramsey because of his reputation.

Honestly, this characters or the storyline did nothing for me. I didn’t understand them or their way of handling things. One minute Ramsey is a total womanizer and then the next he acts like a savior. His personalities were giving me whiplash through the entire story. Jewel I found a little on the annoying side, but I did appreciate her characters fire and drive to want to be the best and make it on her own no matter the cost.

As far as the Rock Band series goes I think I will have to pass on the upcoming books and stick with the Unbroken Heroes series. I may not have totally fell in love with Rock Steady but that doesn’t mean others won’t.

Test Drive is the first book in the Body Shop Bad Boys series which is a spin off from the McCauley Brothers series and while we meet some brand new characters some of the previous characters make some appearances throughout the story. I really like that you don’t have to read the previous books to get totally engrossed in the Body Shop Bad Boys series and oh are these boys bad yet they are so good.

In Test Drive we meet Johnny who works in the garage as a mechanic alongside three other totally hot guys who are all bad ass in their own way. While Johnny is known for his playboy ways if he met the right woman he would change, but for the last four years he only has his sights set on one woman and after four years of asking her on a date he hopes soon she will say yes.

Lara is putting herself through nursing school while she bartends at night. She isn’t only beautiful and talented but she is driven to make a better life for herself. Lara also doesn’t have much time to date, but if she did she would definitely want to try it with Johnny. When Lara agrees to one date the sparks are flying and Lara realizes she just might be in over her head.

Already I am in love with Johnny and the other guys in the garage. They are close and I really enjoyed the banter between them. At first they come off crude but the way they soften up around Lara goes to show they have a deeper side to them and I honestly can’t wait to read each of their stories.

Marie Harte did an excellent job at bringing Lara and Johnny together. They were both different and lead very different lives yet during their relationship it showed a growth not only between them as a couple but within themselves. Over the time Lara and Johnny date they begin to learn more about one another and they start to fall harder. At first the story started out a little on the slow side but once it started moving I couldn’t get enough of them.

Test Drive is hot, sweet and had me begging for more! Ms. Harte brought the heat with the love scenes and the romance took center stage on what was really a fantastic read. The process between Johnny and Lara wasn’t rushed and actually took time even though they had been running into each other for the past four years. Johnny has such great qualities I wanted to clone him for myself. Lara was strong and yet I loved the way she leaned on him when she needed him.

While there is some drama it’s not the over the top drama that usually has me rolling my eyes. Test Drive also had humor and heart that has me looking forward to reading the next book in the series and learning more about these bad boys and the women who win their hearts.

He's a werewolf
She's his mate
Her family would kill to keep them apart

A wolf in Landry Cooper's position doesn't really do the dating scene-there's simply no time when he's taking out bad guys practically every day of the week. But when he meets beautiful Everly Danu during a bank robbery, he's sure she's The One for him. The problem: she has no idea what Cooper really is...until his secret is exposed and she discovers the man she thought she knew is a monster in disguise.

Paige Tyler’s To Love A Wolf is sensational!  I’m totally in love with Landry and Everly!  Being in the wrong place at the wrong time turns out oh so right for Landry and Everly.  While I wouldn’t choose to meet “The One” during a bank robbery it couldn’t be hotter for these two.  It’s obvious Everly and Landry are soulmates from the moment they meet.  Their chemistry flies off the pages.  It’s too bad for them they have so many obstacles in their way.  However, it makes for excellent reading.

I have been excited to learn more about S.W.A.T. officer Landry Cooper for a while now and I was not disappointed.  He is such a sexy and honorable character which makes him the perfect man for artist Everly Danu.  I love Tyler’s use of suspense in her novels. You would think that after starting with a jarring prologue and a bank robbery things would then slow down but no way! The heat rises in Dallas as we discover there is a bomber on the loose.

Wait…that’s not all! There is plenty more drama in store for this couple as they deal with a disapproving family and friends in need.  To Love A Wolf packs a punch!  I couldn’t get enough of it!

Tyler’s S.W.A.T.: Special Wolf Alpha Team series only gets hotter with To Love A Wolf.

Every time I go into a Marie Harte book I know two things; one it’s going to be hot and steamy and two, the characters are going to be different each and every time. Roadside Assistance is the second installment in Harte’s new series, Body Shop Bad Boys and I have to say there were things that just stood out on this one.

Have you ever read a story were the heroine is almost completely perfect and put together not only in personality but also in the looks department? For me those books bother me because it’s simply just not real. We all have flaws in some shape or form (duh) but it’s refreshing when Harte writes her heroines because they aren’t perfect and that was the case in Roadside Assistance. Cyn is not the perfect size and she knows it but she is a little self-conscious about it.

Foley and Cyn meet when she comes into the body shop he works in to yell about the cars that are making business where she works a little difficult. Right away Foley is attracted to her fiery character and wants to know more about her, but Cyn is off men since her last relationship didn’t work out. Foley refuses to give up on the beautiful and sassy Cyn but there are deeper issues at work and if they both can deal with them they might just have the happily ever after they deserve.

I found Roadside Assistance to be a deeply refreshing read. Harte did a great job with not only the character descriptions but also covering the subject of emotional abuse. From the moment Cyn was introduced you could see that her self-confidence issues went deeper even though she acted like she was fine. I really loved how unsure she was with Foley even though she was confident in everything else. Foley was a dream boat and really liked Cyn the way she was. Sure he said things at times that made her a bit uncomfortable but he had good intentions and I think she really needed him in her life. While both of the main characters took center stage I enjoyed Cyn’s sister-in-law a lot. She was funny and was there for Cyn when she really needed her.

Guess what Harte fans? It looks like there will be another spin off series coming our way! There is an understory in the works in Roadside Assistance that has do with both the McCauley series and The Body Shop Bad Boys series. I, for one can’t wait! Harte’s writing just has a way of taking you out of your head and dropping you into someone else’s. While each story is always different it keeps the same loveable characters who keep reappearing which makes me want to start reading the very first book where it all began. Trust me you won’t want to miss a single book in this hot, new and exciting series that follows rough hard working mechanics who fall hard.
