Salvaging is dangerous work. Whether it’s a sunken ship or a damaged tanker Burke Matthews and the crew of The Brigadoon are known for being the best. Currently they are docked near the cruise liner Bella Donna which struck rocks off Palerno on the Amalfi Coast. If Burke and his team are unable to retrieve the fully loaded fuel tanks the town and the entire surrounding ecosystem will be ruined.
An excellent team leader at salvaging, Burke isn’t so wise when it comes to love. He’s tired of meaningless sex. A relationship with fellow ship’s officer Trent Moresby didn’t work out. They’re great in bed, but the emotional bond isn’t there for Burke and ultimately that’s what he wants most.
Most of the crew and passengers made it off the Bella Donna safely. When Burke’s team is given the go-ahead to start work everyone figures that there aren’t any more survivors. As they begin several bodies are discovered so Burke and his men are thrilled to find missing waiter Gabriel Bergeron clinging to life within the ship.
Something passes between Burke and Gabriel the moment they meet. It’s not simple hero worship Gabriel’s feeling. As for Burke he’s drawn to the waiter. Giving the survivor a helping hand is the right thing to do. Passions explode and emotions unfortunately get the better of everyone involved. Time is counting down on the salvage job and on their chance for a future.
Passion and betrayal detonates. Moby’s Dick focuses on a challenging romance within the backdrop of a possible environmental disaster. Technical information goes hand in hand with an unexpected romance in this intelligent tale. Between dealing with a jealous ex, a news hungry mayor, and a difficult salvage job Burke has his hands full in Moby’s Dick. Thankfully within the intense drama there are some lighthearted moments to balance the story. The slow buildup becomes white hot and delivers in Moby’s Dick.
