One last assignment before master spy/assassin Aden Gale finally retires.  Still at the top of his game Aden nonetheless feels the weight of the years and knows he needs to quit before he makes a mistake that could cost him everything.  Aden intends to spend more time with his family, his son Carey, and the other three boys he helped raise and calls his own.  Eventually, with a little luck and nudging maybe Carey will make him a grandfather too.

A thorn in Aden’s side is currently lying asleep in Carey’s back garden, sorcerer Gallen Theos.  Aden’s brought plenty of young men to try and break the curse Gallen’s own father forced on him when he sided with his friends rather than his sire, but so far no luck. The assassin feels inexplicably drawn to the sorcerer yet refuses to attempt waking Gallen himself.  Having a partner is far too risky, too dangerous to contemplate.  Even if Gallen is Aden’s mate he must reject him to protect him.   It’s the only logical answer though logic is the last thing the assassin feels for the sorcerer.

The consistently entertaining Banded Brothers series comes to a dramatic conclusion in To Kiss a Killer.  Aden’s relationship with Gallen neatly ties up all the main characters in the series; with the assassin tap dancing around his fate as Gallen uses patience and devotion to great effect.  There are a few loose ends which will hopefully be addressed at some point in the new series mentioned at the end of Banded Brothers.  Personable, sexy characters, witty dialogue, and a fast moving plotline come together in To Kiss a Killer for readers to thoroughly enjoy.

Very few vampires find their blood bonded.  Coven leader Rohan understands how privileged he truly is to find Harris Bender at a local art exhibit one evening.  Deciding to take things slowly Rohan hires Harris to paint a mural in his home and begin his seduction.

Bear shifter Harris is almost positive the vampire leader is his mate.  Most shifters would be thrilled to find their other half, but Harris doesn’t feel ready to settle down with one person for the rest of his life.

Rohan is willing to take things one step at a time, whatever it takes to make the skittish bear comfortable and happy.  Unfortunately their enemy, the sorcerers got wind of the relationship and seem intent on destroying Rohan by killing his blood bonded, Harris by any means available to them.  Suddenly their fated romance becomes dangerous.

A vampire leader has his work cut out for him to seduce his love in To Bite a Bear.  Reluctant to make a commitment Harris is a charming character, his mate is smooth, strong and charming too.  Their somewhat rocky romance is a treat to witness while the evil sorcerers add the right amount of trouble and drama.  Good pacing, lively characters, and an entertaining plotline make To Bite a Bear pure fun.

Eagle shifter Eaton Franks is thrilled his human brother and his croc shifter brother have found their happiness with mates.  Eaton’s future love life is considerably more complicated because he will as an eagle most likely bond during his first sexual encounter.  So, he’s got to get it right, no mistakes.

Barely surviving an attempted coup, hawk shifter leader Marty is literally broken.  Multiple fractures throughout his body including his spine make it extremely risky to attempt shifting in order to heal.  It will be months before Marty is healed enough to shift.  Going months without shifting could cause his hawk to go insane.  Either way Marty is in a bad place.

Eaton is pretty certain that Marty is his mate but until the hawk heals there’s nothing he can do about the situation.  Worrying about his hawk, Eaton enlists the help of college friend Gallen Theos, half sorcerer, half fae.  Unaware that Gallen has his heart set on Eaton becoming his bonded, the eagle inadvertently ties his life to the wrong one.  It’s up to a broken hawk and his friends to save Eaton from his own promise.

To Enchant an Eagle charms with an emotionally intense character driven drama.  The three characters form an intriguing triangle with Eaton in the middle.  Twists and turns in the plotline also keeps the tension level high.  Witty dialogue adds to this entertaining story as well.  An enticing blend of engaging characters and pack plot make To Enchant an Eagle a winner.

It’s up to fresh water crocodile shifter Denton Stills to keep order and peace at the lovely mansion in Seattle while band mate Carey and his new husband are away on their honeymoon.  Of course, that’s exactly what Denton plans to do until a group of salt water crocodile shifters tell him to leave town, permanently. They also beat the stuffing out of Denton as an example which is truly the wrong move.

Puma shifter Isaac Graham is calculating his chances of when to make the sexy croc his own as Denton basically crawls to his front steps bloody and beaten.  The fight is definitely on because no one is allowed to hurt the puma’s mate to be.

They quickly realize that something very bad is underway by the salties and it’s clearly a job for the shifters to fix things and oust their enemies before the newlyweds come home.  At least all the trouble means Denton is finally in Isaac’s arms.  Maybe the puma will thank them after they’re demolished for hurting his mate, maybe.

Lively action, endearing characters, and witty dialogue keep the reader firmly involved in To Catch a Croc.  Author Amber Kell draws the reader into this reality where shifters and others are all quite reasonable neighbors and friends.  Altogether an enjoyable story with characters that charm.  To Catch a Croc is a seriously fun read and this series is worth checking out.
