The last four years haven’t been easy for Evan Cerelli and Matt Haight or Evan’s kids, but they’ve been getting better, until Evan’s eldest daughter Miranda finally pushes everyone too far.
Raising teenagers is hard enough, but Evan’s kids have had to accept their mother’s death and their father coming out as a gay man in a few short years. Miranda is having a particularly hard time with the changes in the family dynamics. Her pain is as heartbreaking as her actions are frustrating. Matt is amazing, as always, even though he’s the newest member of the family, he’s the glue keeping them all together. Evan faces some hard choices and even harder truths in Cherish. He’s a good man and a good dad trying to do the right thing and keep himself sane. Meeting Miranda’s boyfriend and his parents on Thanksgiving could push him over the edge. Revisiting Matt and Evan again is always something I enjoy, and Cherish offers a very heartfelt look into where they are now.
