It’s been a couple of brutal years for Adam Hyland. His family kicked him out when he came out, his career as a ballet dancer died with a bad knee injury, and recently Adam left everything behind after witnessing his boyfriend screwing another in their bed. Lately he’s been forced to sleep in his car or crash on friends’ couches. The one upside at the moment is the new job as a stripper at Flesh Tones.
After inheriting the family securities company Jimmy Trent worked round the clock to make it even more profitable. His older brother Laton wanted nothing to do with the company except the profits. The latest venture, which Jimmy somehow got roped into co-signing is a strip club. At least so far Flesh Tones is doing well.
Adam makes extra cash on the side by doing strip-o-grams. Going to a mansion one evening he does his dance for birthday boy Jimmy and the two spark with chemistry. Though Adam slips out before morning to avoid embarrassment it’s still a shock when the pair come face to face in Flesh Tones the next day. Pursing the stripper is the last thing that Jimmy should be doing, but he can’t freeze his libido or his desire to know Adam better. Keeping his sexuality a secret won’t be an option if he insists on wooing his stripper in public. After all the hard work and years of hiding who he is Jimmy will have to decide if Adam is worth coming into the light. And surviving the repercussions that will certainly follow.
A refreshingly realistic, difficult relationship is explored fully in Phoenix Rising, the first book in the new series Playing for Keeps. Adam deals with life’s hard knocks with dignity. Jimmy lives a wealthy, lonely life where the truth will test his morals. Self examination is never easy. Enjoy life’s human foibles in Phoenix Rising. Readers won’t be disappointed with the outcome.
