Christine Feehan is a semi new author to me but when I saw this book and read the blurb I really liked how it sounded and of course had to devour it in one sitting. Shadow Rider is the first book in the Shadow series and once I started getting into this new world that Feehan created I was totally hooked. I want to say this story is a contemporary with a paranormal twist. There were no fairies, vampires or even werewolves for that matter, but it was about a family that can mask themselves in shadows which was very unique and intriguing.

Stefano is the head of the powerful Ferraro family. He might be the oldest of his siblings but he is one of the most bad ass heroes I have read about in a long time. The shadow walker legacy goes back centuries and they have a hard time finding their other halves so their marriages are usually arranged so the legacy will live on. It just so happens Stefano is about to leave town for a job when he comes across Francesca by mistake and it turns out to be the best thing that has ever happened to him because she is a rider.

Francesca has no idea that her life is about to change when Stefano steps in and gives her his coat and some money. She also has no idea that she is a rider. It’s up to Stefano to convince Francesca to accept all of him at her own free will, but it’s going to take some time. Sometimes she finds his bossiness and hard tone a bit scary even if she also thinks he is his most attractive at those moments.

Usually during reading a story I always favor one character more than the others but during Shadow Rider I honestly had no favorites because I really liked each and every character. The way Feehan wrote each member of the Ferraro family just worked. They were close and I just really took to how different their personalities were. Stefano was bossy, sexy and had this deadly air around him but he also came off as sweet and charming. Francesca did a great job at holding her ground and gave him sass when he pushed her to do something but I could see her starting to trust him and his word little by little.

Everyone loves a good love scene, but oh man did Feehan bring it with each and every one. They are detailed and last over numerous pages without being too wordy. Now don’t get me wrong during the story there was some repeating when it wasn’t needed but I felt it didn’t take away from the story. Shadow Rider is filled with plenty of action on top of the romance that is blooming and really had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. The ending sets up for the next book and already I am stalking Feehan’s website to find out when it will be released and who it will be about. If you haven’t picked up Shadow Rider I would do so today and get to know Stefano and Francesca.

“Powerful and fast-paced…a riveting read.” --Nina Bangs on Shadow BoundGHOSTSThey haunt the halls of the Segue Institute, terrifying the living, refusing to cross over. But one soul is driven by a very different force.LOVEIt survives even death. And Kathleen O’Brien swore she would return to those she was forced to leave too soon.SHADOWMAN
He broke every rule to have her in life;now he will defy the angels to find her in death.
Forging it is his single hope of being reunited with his beloved, but through it an abomination enters the world. Leaving a trail of blood and violence, the devil hunts her too. Pursued through realms of bright fantasy and dark reality, Kathleen is about to be taken. . . “Fans of dark drama will be captivated by this intense new series.” –Romantic Times

Kathleen O’Brien loved her Shadowman more than anything in the world.  He stayed by her side throughout many trials and together they created life but hers would be cut short. Katherine vowed to be reunited with her Shadowman and their child.
Shadowman searched the Heavens above for his beloved Kathleen, but could not find her. There was only one place left to search and that is the Hells below, but first he must build a gate.  Shadowman is a dark fae lord and the only one capable of such a feat.
Layla Mathews is a reporter seeking the story of a lifetime.  She needs a picture of the infamous Talia Thorne for her story and she’s willing to go to great lengths to get it.  Those extremes land her on the dark and spooky docks where she finds herself the victim of violence. Fortunately, a brave and handsome man comes to her aid, but he is too late to keep her from unknowingly unleashing destruction upon the earth.
Shadowman has finally found Kathleen’s soul now all he has to do is make her remember their love for each other and keep her alive.  Fate has twisted her cruel knife once again and she plans to take away Shadowman’s love but he will do whatever it takes to keep the woman he loves alive.
Shadowman is a stunning, unbelievably sentimental paranormal love story.  The novel keeps the reader enthralled from page one.  The intense love between the hero and heroine is felt immediately only to be taken away soon thereafter.  I love the fact that the characters must then work to find that love once again.
The hero and heroine of Shadowman are both so incredibly strong.  The lengths these two are willing to go through to be together are breathtaking.  I felt consumed by this unique and compelling love story.  I couldn’t wait to find out how the fated hero and heroine were going to find their way back to each other.  Their journey is excitingly tense and passionate. I don’t want to give away the particulars of this story because Ms. Kellison has created something extremely cool here. I want to say that I truly love the journey that Shadowman goes on.  He faces many different emotions and for a character that is essentially death it is thrilling to see how he handles feelings of love.  Erin Kellison has created magic with her Shadow series.  I can’t wait to read what she writes next.
